Wish for Peace
The fragile beauty of the dandelion In my hand whose grip on land Dares you to eradicate its presence in Zion As it spreads through the wish for peace to lend
A hand to those in need of a blend Of peace in their days of suffering Without end. Wish for peace for them to send
Their children to schools With filled bellies of fresh food Sprinkled with life giving water that drools In honor of a wish for peace that stood
On the doorstep waiting, waiting Patiently for humanity’s response To help save those whose beliefs, never straying, Empowers their wish for peace
For a new generation without The need to revisit the trauma of today’s Dire escalations of genocides in a bout Of cataclysmic fear whose only wish is for peace.

I sit up, Look up, Firing my appreciation To God, in whose contemplation, Veneration, I’m engrossed In my thanks to all that I’ve got, that’s on the spot: Family to love and cherish, Kin to pray and think of me as I perish, Friends who’ll miss my presence, As our discussions cover matters that hence Ruminate over social changes Trending through social media’s Imposing pressure over all genders And age groups who’ve surrenders Their freedom to bondage Of our sovereignty over our charge: Our immortal soul, whose barred From its morality, replaced By being led to sins that destroy Your connection to the all mighty, a ploy, To reduce believers that rebel against sins of plurality.

Frozen Frame
In a perfect sphere, where, in the snow Falls in perfect harmony, gathering family Feasting, playing, with nothing contrary, Only fun in the peaceful snowy glow.
The scene is set, The people prepped, The table bent, The children are a heavenly send.
The frozen frame is icy, Covered in white powder whose Calm settles into old bones, Where memory is alive, but dicey!
For the child, it’s the here and now That matters, while all else Is icing on a cake, where the candle will blow, And family is always best when many are less
And the anticipation of guessing What’s in the box is filled with laughter As outrageous ideas are a pleasing Game that ends chortling giggler.
The frame is never lame, It set the bar very high for following Years, as its innocence came With its childhood’s naive framing.

As the countdown to 2024 starts, My mind takes a long look behind And wonders what wishes, surprises Are in store for 2025 that won’t stand Down to the tests of time.
I wish for a world of peace I wish for a world without violence, I wish for justice to prevail, I wish for family strength and unity, I wish for a world that’s compassionate and humane, I wish for honesty to triumph over lies, I wish that this society’s rules made sense, I wish, I wish, I wish…
Wishing for something and achieving Your goal are separate indeed, as Working hard drives you to attaining Your objective, while just wishing for it to lands In your lap will never happen!

The flaming sun burnishes the sky With reds and oranges Spilling over tree tops Like a flame of life; let go and Fly!
Fly like the falling leaf strewn Into an adventure to adorn The grounds with its fragility Rejuvenation and transiency.
As I walk in the fall streets Littered with crunchy leaves, Their stories resound in steps As their strength comes back in springs
Relating of their journey Into the soil, hibernating as a key To Invigorate the ground with nutrients That’ll help rekindle their growth into beauties.
