Dreary Blues
Melancholy’s song echoes in my heart, It stutters to a rhythm of a dying heart Drumming slowly in the embrace Of loss as it envelopes me at a pace Slower than the most romantic dance,
As the blues trumpets its slow Flow of a soulful beat, an emotional blow Of the harmonica’s solo swing Creates a canvas of loss in a painting Whose sole focus is melancholy panting
A cycle of notes, whispering their Stormy lyrics to connect to a layer Of depth incomparable to any before, As it serenades your bleeding core To expunge your melancholy as a bore
Fully comprehending that you Can’t let the sore of the echoed blue Make you fall when your strength has Been proven to be warrior like and as I knew all along, living for his death in a low bass
That heralds putting it in its sepulcher, Locking it and throwing away the key, as per Commands of the living to celebrate in cheer As loss is but another gain in sheer Ability to adapt and overcome the drear.

Sky, Soil, GOD
As I look above, the sky’s scintillating Colors, whether sunrise, twighlight, sunset, or night They inspire moods that vary, like colors devoting Beauty to your every versatility, like a kite In flight, I realize, GOD, is all around Doling out beauty for your joy that’s found
In being beside you when times Are exciting, cheerful, depressing, When you look down upon ecosystems Surrounding you with miracles, outstanding In their simplicity: ant home, beehives, Even larger predators, the need survives
In each one, human, animal, insect, Knowing YOU’RE present everywhere Above, below, and at our side. In fact, That knowledge is what initiate Our appreciation for all GOD’S creations, Also innately aware of your presence’s jubilations,
That empower all to subjugate Negativity with optimism, transforming Our core into being compassionately humane.

International Writer’s Day Acrostic
Internet has facilitated global connections Never stop the growth of writers That rend their hearts as theIr words flow Empowering the weak to Remember their worth Never succumbing to oppression’s Timely propagation that cleAves Intimate family meMbers into Open enemity, clearly ‘Dividing & Conquering’ Needlessly aggressive, destructive, Avid in mercilessly taking resources And Leaving nothing to the Indigenous peoples.

Festive City
Painted roofs On a cold day, running like hoofs, Their brilliant shine, It’s just fine Surrounded by pine Covered in blinking lights Green, red, blue, whites That twinkle at nights Giving rise to hope For a future where you don’t mope, Fall into depression Caused by holiday celebration That cost a liver, kidney, That you can’t live without the key Of life, for cheer revokes Loneliness, sadness that provokes Moodiness, violent cakes Falling apart As you built a life that makes You proud of your veneer That never touches ethics that peer Within, making you stronger For your life is lighter As most stress is caused By gossip’s ear, whose vanity paused To try and emulate what others had.

Deafening Silence
The scariest sound is that of a silenced time In nature, while you’re in the midst Of a storm, the eye is ‘calm before the storm’
… To the strident cacophony of howling winds that feast
… Although the event’s transient accoutrements Leave a world in chaos as it dissipates over land. The wreckage of homes and possessions aren’t contents
….
Lives scattered into the sands of time as they bust Through their raucous imprisonment with cheer And optimism that has no end but in a bright burst.
Let your home be centered around you, Making it transportable and new, as you Enjoy its flimsy, distraught center in a cue.
