Questions … Worries …?

What do you write about when you’re unsure what to write about?

I fear my feelings are binding my ability to write today. I apologize for that, but then you have to give age its due. With it comes: fatigue and unending worries. In the world we live in today, where war, a crisis in food supply, increasing inflation and gas prices, where or who do you turn to to alleviate some of that pressure?

I try to stay strong for my family by keeping it bottled in. But how long can I manage that?

My only recourse is my faith, in which I drench my soul. It has the ability, with GOD’S words to place a balm of peace over a worried soul.

Try it, you won’t regret it.

Belief’s Immortality

A poem read by Malak Kalmoni Chehab from her poetry book, Perfectly Flawed.

It’s about how believers don’t need proof of God’s existence, others do.

Luck?

Today, the world is a global village, where

Knowledge and friends are at your fingertips, there

Or across the ocean, continent, country, even street

You never know where your next lucky charm will pop up at.

Buck, f–k, junk, luck, tuck, truck, stuck, struck,

All revert to luck as they all stick together in a funk.

I love all these good luck charms that drive in an infinite

Figure eight to send some more luck your way, even if late.

From billions and millions of people around the world

To the individual’s solitary existence, to eco systems

To the tiniest ant, even tinier, that make the systems

Work simultaneously, and depend on each other hard.

It’s a lesson to learn, that ‘no man’s an island ‘,

And neither can nature nor man live separately

Nor can either live without the strength of belief, strongly

Ensuring ALL’s survival for their dependence is the law not the exception.

Ring Around the Posy

A lone posy sits up in a bone filled garden,

Its petals bright and soft defy the cold. Unbidden,

Its leaves and burgeoning tips reach into the sky,

Savoring the sun’s rays, helping its growth.

Posy buds gather around their leaves,

Waiting for the rain to feed their roots

In order to turn into a bouquet of nosegrays,

That symbolizes love, honor, prosperities

In China, but shame in Victorian England.

Still the queen has made posy bouquets a trend,

Now weddings advertise them to blend,

Fuse the various items together, while they stand

Out looking somewhere between a rose and tulip,

Regal in its stance in the bouquet or lawn.

In the park or garden, bones stick out, they fawn

Over the brittle, broken, dirty white pieces.

The opposition of life and deaths

Where the stark white of animal and human

Bones litter the ground, unseen;

Versus the beauty, color, and softness

Of the vibrantly colored petals raised in

Supplication and gratitude for such beauties.

Stunning those observing into believing

That God created such wondrous beings!
