Diploma Certificate for my poem: Sky, Soil, GOD

Thank you,  administrators, for the accolade and your hard work.

Sky, Soil, GOD

As I look above, the sky’s scintillating
Colors, whether sunrise, twighlight, sunset, or night
They inspire moods that vary, like colors devoting
Beauty to your every versatility,  like a kite
In flight, I realize, GOD, is all around
Doling out beauty for your joy that’s found

In being beside you when times
Are exciting,  cheerful,  depressing,
When you look down upon ecosystems
Surrounding you with miracles, outstanding
In their simplicity: ant home, beehives,
Even larger predators, the need survives

In each one, human, animal, insect,
Knowing YOU’RE present everywhere
Above, below, and at our side. In fact,
That knowledge is what initiate
Our appreciation for all GOD’S creations,
Also innately aware of your presence’s jubilations,

That empower all to subjugate
Negativity with optimism, transforming
Our core into being compassionately humane.

Certificate of Excellence for poem:

Thank you, administrators, for the accolade and your hard work.

Short

Short; I’ve learned that life is too short,
What are the necessities of such a sport?

Live, live, little by little,  enjoy it all,
Your childhood,  youth, adulthood,  cycled circle

Of flaws that turn into strengths
That raise you up to a pinnacle of breaths

That feel uniquely important for you not to fall.
The abyss below can be a starkly black ball,

Or a bright sunny day filled with fun and play.
Enjoy the rainbows that come after a rainy day.

Those days are infrequent,  transient,
And easily missed if you’re mired in your own dejected

Despair, whose darkness can’t be pierced
By the frivolity, fun, smiles, laughter of  living and dead.

Don’t,  don’t let that despair put you down,
Scare it away with your strength of will!

Accolade for my poem,  Festive City

Thank you,  administrators,  for the accolade and your hard work.

Festive City

Painted roofs
On a cold day, running like hoofs,
Their brilliant shine,
It’s just fine
Surrounded by pine
Covered in blinking lights
Green, red, blue, whites
That twinkle at nights
Giving rise to hope
For a future where you don’t mope,
Fall into depression
Caused by holiday celebration
That cost a liver, kidney,
That you can’t live without the key
Of life, for cheer revokes
Loneliness, sadness that provokes
Moodiness, violent cakes
Falling apart As you built a  life that makes
You proud of your veneer
That never touches ethics that peer
Within, making you stronger
For your life is lighter
As most stress is caused
By gossip’s ear, whose vanity paused
To try and emulate what others had.

Certificate of Appreciation for my poem

Thank you,  administrators,  for the accolade and your hard work.

Deafening Silence

The scariest sound is that of a silenced time
In nature, while you’re in the midst
Of a storm, the eye is ‘calm before the storm’

To the strident cacophony of howling winds that feast

Although the event’s transient accoutrements
Leave a world in chaos as it dissipates over land.
The wreckage of homes and possessions aren’t contents

….

Lives scattered into the sands of time as they bust
Through their raucous imprisonment with cheer
And optimism that has no end but in a bright burst.

Let your home be centered around you,
Making it transportable and new, as you
Enjoy its flimsy, distraught center in a cue.

Diploma Certificate for my poem: Masked Wonder

Thank you,  administrators,  for the accolade and your hard work.

Masked Wonder

Dressed in her ivory maskerade ballgown,
Her golden mask, sitting holding a frown,
Wondering carelessly why their return
Was before the clock struck one.

She stands by the shore a glow bathed
Her translucent skin brightly locked
In wonder, as she gazes through the darkened
Sky lit by a brilliant moon and stars, dangled

In clusters, creating images and a haze
Of moving light surrounding the blaze
Of hope and wonder that are cause
For our betterment and flays the craze

Of depression’s loneliness that she
Left behind, as the music was too loud a bee,
She stirs from her pose of repose to see
And appreciate the beauty and comfort that be

Her succor as she contemplates
The dichotomy of a world at wars
While the other lives freely and creates
Memories, while the other loses or dies.

Accolade for my poem,  Lone Leaf Wonderment

Lone Leaf Wonderment

As a lone yellowed leaf, I remain,
Hanging precariously onto the branch,
Looking onto the ground, where my vain
Friends have all fallen while greenish, now, out of reach,

They lay on the fallow earth
Blanketing it with their dried crunch,
As passerby ignore their presence ignoring the cloth
That beautified nature, as they stomp them in a bunch.

Lonely, alone, my tears fall unnoticed
As I try to mourn all I’ve lost:
Friends whose radiance has died,
Family whose love has extinguished and thrust

Me, alone, in an unforgiving world,
Where what once was is easily forgotten,
While all those empty voices rise in a cold
Empty entourage who’s lost compassion and been

Swamped with the material world,
Living in solitary confinement,
On a schedule that bind
More then prison bars in an accoutrement

To integration in a society, powerless
To make a change in their community
As technology and self-isolation progress
Towards being captivated by superficiality

Of surviving rather than living
In faith, hope, their power and force,
Naturally protect believers in believing
In the existence of hope and communal peace.

Certificate of Excellence for my poem,  Hunger to Survive

Thank you, administrators, for the accolade and your hard work.

Hunger to Survive

The lion lays quietly atop an overhanging hill.
He waits, watches in the vain fervor that his prey
Will come to him in deadly night like a diet pill
That will stop his hunger and permit his teeth to stay
Sharp, glistening white, creating a shiver of fear
Of their ferocity and ability to tear apart an arm,
Or important extremities that flash their spear
Of speed trying to outrun the King.

The atmosphere of fear is so authentic
That I can feel the lion’s eyes shifting silently,
Watching guardedly, waiting patiently to pounce happily
On his unsuspecting prey.  His jaws are cave like
In their imposing strength and force of bite.

Never fear the lion, for you know he attacks
To survive, not for pleasure.
Fear those who appear like sheep, but are
More serpent or fox, for their poisons
Attack the soul and destroy lives as if doing you favors.

Accolade for my poem: Life Captured

Thank you,  administrators,  for the accolade and your hard work.

The poem, Life Captured,  is part of my poetry book,  Perfectly Flawed poetry for change.

Life Captured

Looking at life through the aperture of a lens
Narrows your vision to only what it presents,
Everything else is eliminated, erased.
What happens to that backdrop that disappeared?
Is your memory faulty, that it too evaporates it?
Or is your memory vibrant enough to retain it?
Or would you prefer to eradicate it?

There are times in life where having a limited
View of an event can alter its meaning, and
Dissipate its importance into nothing,
For its effect on you, casual at best. Reliving
Them is unremarkable, dispensable, and dreary
Creating unnecessary despair when life is for living.

Other times when a complete view is compulsory
For understanding and acting favorably.
At such times,  no minute detail is unnecessary,
For they all create a holistic picture of the unsavory
Events that play out in movie format,  brilliantly
Vivid in its details, sounds, smells, and actionably.

The scenes are relentless in their motions
As they unveil their worthiness to us
As the aperture of life is just a version
Of all that’s around us, filming, storing,
Even deleting or omitting the undeserving,
Challenging the lies or liars, stating only verity, flying!!!!
