The bride of Satan, dressed in white lace, Covered neck, arms, wrist, and breast, But her ‘come hither’ looks abound on her face, Where her Blue sultry eyes twinkle and rest
On her next victim, whose naivety Dumps them on a crest of eternal Damnation, as she pouts her way Into susceptible hearts that are flug into a stall
Of manure adored rest filled with the plague Of depression’s harbor, as she seduces Without rest, all those having an affinity to renege On a contract, signed in blood, that produces
Regret of lost souls, pride, arrogance As they imbibe of her nectar, and believe Her spiel sermon of drivel, convince Victims with her extraordinary beauty to leave
Them panting, unthinking, as they sign On the dotted line unthinking of their living line.

Are you as invisible as ‘a drop in the ocean’, Or are you ‘the entire ocean in a drop’? If you feel insignificant, worthless, nugatory, Then you’re letting the world define You in ways that are superficial that cop- Out, hiding who you are in a flurry
Of dichotomy that examplefies the self In opposition to the other, needing to change To integrate in a society filled with bias. Visualize your being as a water drop full Of hope, life, discipline, ethics that charge Into a blind world that needs visionaries
Who start by expanding themselves, encompassing oceans Simply by staying true to their standards.

The theme, African Slavery, is close to my heart as I was born in Ghana. The people are friendly and wonderful to be with. My memories of growing up there is that of hot weather, beautiful plant life, forests, wide spaces, language, and culture.

The eagle’s flight is sacred to me, it represents freedom and breaking the bonds of social stricture. I wanted to get the idea across that an eagle never loses his self-confidence, and, we, as humans, should look up into the sky for the example we want to follow.

“In your light I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems.” (Rumi)
Love’s Poetry
As light is hope and all that’s bright, Learning to love in the sun illuminates Your perception on values, character, that fight To blot out negativity, that’s darkened puss
That festers as an abyssimal blight To optimism whose courage roars in Flight to piece together poems whose bite Is only a loving caress, as their images pin
Your beauty from words to face, wrinkled From endured hardships but glows With the passionate compassion of being loved. As you shower me with light, the fight throws
Away the scourge of love’s broken heart By filling papers with poems that brook No argument to its plight in trying to strut The words in verses and lines that cook
Your presence into the essence of love Unbroken by a pessimistic world that implodes When amour is at its best fighting in brave Behest of a soul needing rest in paper adobes.

In a faery wonderland, she’ll stand, Hands held together in veneration for land Whose fantastical beauty astounds, Its colors: rainbowed pastels in grands
Accumulated in clicks of reds, blue, Pinks, greens, whose hues flew Across the bay, scattered haphazardly In a motley crew of geometrically
Arranged order that’s breathtaking In their form, as they stand as sentries breaking ….
A story of struggle that united The varied creatures to be one, As they strive to keep their beauty in a shrine.
