Outstanding Award for my collaborative poem, Memories, Memory

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Memories, Memory

Memories, memories of childhood
Long gone, come back, come
Let’s play a song, a game,
Let innocence flow like a flood

Throw, throw away taught stereotypes,
Enjoy the games with all blood
Types, mixed races, all are kids who prod
One another regardless of religious hypes.

Oh to be so free as a child’s kite
No cares about evil, pedophile,
Predators, child abusers, all file
Into a chest locked away in a fight

To stay bright with joy, unmindfull
Of obstructions to laughter’s song
That glides into deadened hearts long
For beauty to brighten the awful

Despair of a dutiful social being
Whose memories of childhood
Spring with cheer, geer, games bold
In their actions for social strictures having

Not been forged, so pushing borders
Is the name of the greatest game
Of childhood’s frame
Where laughter, fun are all starters.

Childhood memories shine like golden daffodils
Innocence shines under the sun’s warmth
Where bees play hide and seek
Amongst gay, laughter and cheerfulness

Children are like free kites
Where in clouds they smile
Their swings take them to high sky
Teach them to fly like a bird

Memories of childhood are like coloured rainbow
Where each colour belongs to each memory
Reflecting a soothing effect
Like dew drops at dawn on each branch

Memories reflect fear of ghosts and demons
Heart full of fear and anxieties at darkness
Joy, happiness, jovial harmony at each festivity
When vivid colourful threads bring us together

Childhood carelessness has faded away soon
From reality it has just come to a memory
Only we can enjoy its residue
The residue that will inspire us till death

The most precious time is childhood itself
The most worthy is its characteristic, innocence
Where guile never can interrupt
Where God can reside alone

Review for my poem, Teita

Malak Kalmoni. Chehab wow wow wow this is absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing Malak. A grandmother’s unconditional love. I will think of this everything my granny cuddles her great granddaughter on her knee. Thank you. Beautiful. 🙏🏻😊😊🙏🏻 By Natasha Brown

Fantastic. Every word is perfectly placed. Thank you for sharing! Shalom. By, Patrick Darnell

Teita¹

Grandmère, grandma, teita
Nonna, abuelita, babushka,

She sits cradling the baby
In her frail strong arms, her
Arthritic fingers clutching the cover
Swaddling the child, she croons softly

As not To wake the slumbering
Babe in arms filled with love
As white as a dove, she dove
Into her role of grandma longing

For the lost stamina of youth
When she was able to run,
Hop, bicycle for longer fun,
Now she waits on the babe’s breath

With bated breath for a wink,
A squeeze Of her hand,
A snuggle of velvety skin that band
Around a slightly bald head, to her, a blink

And she’d miss all the milestones
Of the growing babe, for her waining
Health struggles with each puffing
Breath to stay another day she owns

With a miraculous innocence
Of pure unadulterated love
That would be lost if the cove
Swallowed teita in the abyss of time’s pace

That’s like lightning when there’s
Joy, laughter,  and love to be shared.

Certificate of Achievement for my poem,  Child Within

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Child Within

The world is in despair,
What a great pair
My dog and I fair
As we jump, hop with flair.

Yes, chaos reigns,
But the soul of the child remains
My best defense as it stains
The world In pains.

So I posture my inner Child
Whose laughter is a great ride,
Whose love has no pride,
Whose enjoyment is never a grind.

Live like that child in simplicity,
Don’t overthink the atrocity,
Don’t stress the depravity,
Do live in harmony.

Certificate of Appreciation for my acrostic poem,  ALLURING

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

ALLURING

Always elegantly made up
Leaving nothing behind, she
Lures he prey by being alluring
Unless she’s stopped from her routine
Regaling her audience with masks
Improving or destroying her given gifts
Never showing her darker side, knowing
Guys prefer fun mystery, but not difficulties.

Award of Appreciation for my poem, Symphony of Summer

Thank you, administrators, for the honor and your hard work.

Symphony of Summer

Scintillating summer days are upon us,
Here to stay for a season of togetherness
When play in the yard, park, are on display,
When age, gender, race hold no sway

For play is the Orchestra of life
That shimmers against strife,
Children play, adults converse,
Elderly lean on each other creating a verse

Of poetic flow ringing in harmony
Lest summer ends without happy
Peaceful play parading for all
To showcase the rhythm that’ll call

Everyone to emulate, for summer
Is transient, and it’s joyful heralder
Will hibernate,  than wake to its
Musical vibes drowning out the pits.

Accolade for my poem: Watering Hole

Thank you,  administrators,  for the accolade and your hard work.

Watering hole

The old Watering Hole
Where gunslingers role
The dice and drink
Never thinking they’d reached the brink

Of their control
When anger isn’t the goal
But alcohol decreases
Self-control and abuses

Take place in every space,
The bar, card table, lace
Covered curtains that blind
The customer who’ll find

That life is a Watering Hole
Where drama, upheaval,
Comedy and entertainment
All coalesce in one place, content

That life keeps changing
With the times, flying
When it’s all fun and crawling
When help is needed for not bawling.

Cuddles

What is good about having a pet?

Cuddles, an eternal devotion, and always waiting for you at the end of the day.  Long walks with hikes and adventure.  Family fun and the dog always chooses his favorite handler, my youngest daughter. She raised him to love the entire family, but she, for all intents and purposes, is his mother, friend, and the reducer of stress through his existence.

Sly, sun bathing!

Our Sly bear is taking the summer seriously. He knows when it’s time to play and when to just rest in the water to cool off. He’s so sly, that he only walks in the shade of the garden, and only comes back for a treat or a splash!

Oh, what fun and worryless is the life of a dog! If his owners are good to him/her, he’s golden as he lives the life of a pampered child.

I’m reviewing several books

What book are you reading right now?

I’m reviewing several books: poetry and short story anthologies. I’m enjoying the variety in writing styles and perspectives. I’m a bookworm who writes poetry and her opinion, freely, trying to be as honest as possible. Reading is my gateway to a world of unknowns that makes more sense in writing as it feels as though it has logic behind it.

My book: Perfectly Flawed poetry for change is poetry that critiques colonialism,  injustice,  and fosters self-worth and growth.
