Accolade and Review for my poem,  Memories, Memory

Malak Kalmoni. Chehab Supremely joyous and uplifting, Malak! Oh those halcyon days of carefree play! “Let innocence flow like a flood” is a beautiful invocation. It speaks directly to our memories. We know exactly what it means without having to pin down the exact meaning of the word. You allow the reader to relate to it personally. You appeal to the truth that all kids are the same. Realization of our shared humanity should encourage us to reject stereotypes thereby restoring our own innocence. You invite us to focus on the freedom, laughter and fun of childhood. A kite is a perfect metaphor, your rhythm and rhyme scheme are absolutely wonderful! Excellent poem about childhood innocence!! By, Linda Powers O’Dell

Thank you Linda,  you humble me with your wonderful words.

Memories,  Memory

Memories, memories of childhood
Long gone, come back, come
Let’s play a song, a game,
Let innocence flow like a flood

Throw, throw away taught stereotypes,
Enjoy the games with all blood
Types, mixed races, all are kids who prod
One another regardless of religious hypes.

Oh to be so free as a child’s kite
No cares about evil, pedophile,
Predators, child abusers, all file
Into a chest locked away in a fight

To stay bright with joy, unmindfull
Of obstructions to laughter’s song
That glides into deadened hearts long
For beauty to brighten the awful

Despair of a dutiful social being
Whose memories of childhood
Spring with cheer, geer, games bold
In their actions for social strictures having

Not been forged, so pushing borders
Is the name of the greatest game
Of childhood’s frame
Where laughter, fun are all starters.

Platinum Certificate for my poem, Rebellion Yell

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Rebel Yell

Freedom is not given but taken,
Taken through the drive,
Drive of the oppressed to stay,
Stay the course in their rebellion,
Rebellion that insights thoughts,
Thoughts that revel in rocking,
Rocking the boat of taught habits,
Habits that destroy creativity,
Creativity needs a voice, medium,
Medium to transform its message,
Message that change is coming,
Coming to overthrow the tyrant,
Tyrant who exploits, destroys,
Destroys hopes, imagination,  freedom,
Freedom that ‘comes with great,
Great responsibility’, for its value,
Value lies in one’s ability to soar,
Soar, without hindrance, to reach
Reach the pinnacle of wonder,
Wonder that wanders stealthily,
Stealthily seeping through cracks,
Cracks that mold into a unit,
Unit that’s unbreakable with the help,
Help of imagination’s power,
Power that strives for justice,
Justice that reigns over happiness,
Happiness that cleaves subjugation.

Diploma Certificate for my poem, Veiled Butterfly

Thank you,  administrators,  for the accolade and your hard work.

Veiled Butterfly

Her veil of flowers and butterflies
Flit around her head as her eyes
Wander into the night skies.

Her beauty shines through
Her astounding eyes of blue,
Framed by lashes of a brownish hue.

Her rosy lips stutter with each
Winged flap, trying vainly to catch
The flight of the butterfly and latch

Onto its fringes and take flight
With her fantasms in direct conflict
With reality’s nightmarish bite.

Her lashes flutter as her revelry
Into a utopian wonder clashes sensibly
With a reality where her veil is horribly

Marred by Stereotypes that bind
Perceptions of beauty of the mind
To terrorist activities that make you grind

Your frustrations for a lack of understanding
And communication that’s building
Roadblocks that inhibit freedom of living.

First Place for a collaborative poem,

Thank you, administrators, for the honor and your hard work. Justice Kingsley, it was great working with you.

Building Bridges of Hope

Dusty roads and crowded streets,
Echo dreams with weary beats.
Hands once torn by toil and pain,
Now reach across the loss and strain.

Through power cuts and skies of grey,
Hope still finds a way to stay.
A hawker’s smile, a neighbor’s cheer,
Soft whispers drown the weight of fear.

No bridge too weak, no dream too small,
Together, we can rise from all.
With grit and love, we pave the way,
For brighter nights and fairer days.

Building a physical bridge
Is easy while bridging Stereotypes
Requires eons of activism in an age
Where using social media as capes

For their unruly behaviors
Spreading hate instead of compassion,
Understanding that colors
Your actions into the starvation

Of the soul’s need to integrate
As society breaks those bonds
In a bid to better control the story of hate,
To the aim of breaking bonds that holds.

Song from Home

Hello, how are you?
It’s been too long since you last called.
Home, hearth, heart, haven are all stalled
As I’ve emigrated into a new land away from you.

I’d plan my call today,  and time would slip away.
I’d plan to call next week, and find that work flays.
I’d plan to call next month, and worry about what to say.
I’d plan to call within a year and fall short of my plays.

Another year goes by, and fear sets in,
If you call, what do you say?
Your understanding of their trials are hypothetical,
And their consideration of your is stereotypical.
Do you call, or let them hang, alone in …

The wonder is those at home will adore
Hearing your voice, struggles, accomplishments,
That boost you to a fore ,
That is unattainable where they are.

Does this boost jealousy and chain your
Connection, turning it stale and hollow?
Or do you put an effort into a tour
Of empathy, compassion that help you flow?

Unfold

Life has many folds, twists, turns, and abysses,

We try to unfold and straighten the creases,

But it’s a delicate job, even hazardous, as The folds are hidden and need to become clear,

Straight, and easily seen, analyzed, and far

From misunderstandings and misgivings.

Is it a thing to need unfolding?

The simple answer is: ‘Yes, it absolutely needs doing!’

In this world, where there so many possibilities

For problems to unfurl, it is imperative to realize

That clarity in speech and actions aren’t always

Perceived as they are, but rather given a political,

Even social agitprops that have tendencies

To insite people into violent and intolerant behavioral

Activities, that help increase gaslighting’s imposing

Ideologies. They incur great wrath, aggressing

Against others’ rights, stripping them of dignity,

Pride, selfworth, even their humanity.

As humans, we need to untangle our ingrained

Stereotypes by humanizing each other, and accept

The difference the same way we accept

That siblings differ, though they come from

The same set of parents, gene pool, and environment.
