Vanity’s Curse
From the swirling darkened fog A wisp of a gorgeous woman Wrapped haphazardly in blood red smog Alive in its flow as she moves, an
Astounding beauty, captivatingly attractive, Sensual, and her sexuality bared for All to consume closely and become enraptusured By a fiery beauty hiding an insidious core,
Horrifically rotten with envy, Hatred, corruption, aggression, All coalesce within her stare, a visionary Of destruction, disunity, strife that lend to perfection
Into her spiderweb of infractions That destroy unity’s equality And fairness that require absolutions From a community that venerates all that’s holy.
Wherever there’s equanimity She presents chaos and superfluous vanity.

Giggle’s Memory
A smile, a laugh, a memory, a thought, All coalesce into memorable visions, Sounds that light up your darkest thought.
My baby’s laughter as a child, adult now, Continues to not only brighten my days But also is an effective antidepressant taking a bow.
As the memory of her tinkling laugh Spreads an inner peace in my breast, I fall back into envisioning the day she was born. Enough
Time has passed, but her musical Laugh has evolved from giggle To full blown belly laughs that bubble
But never pop as her optimism Isn’t a prop, rather its centered in faith, Bound by our love that enveloped her in grim
Strength to suppress all that can Depress. She rises above difficulties With a smile that shines like the moon On foggy, oppressive raven black, nights
That simply disperse as her laugh lights The sky with power of brightness That never dims in all the time it casts.

I’m honored to be part of the group of poets and poetesses chosen for this honor. I love writing and connecting with my audience over the themes I write about.
I did a poetry reading of my published poems in Petal Projections, and the reaction of the listeners and their interactions with my themes was uplifting. It motivates me to write more.

Rainbowed love starts In red hot passions To orange hearts expanding, To yellow glow brightening The green of acceptance, change, And growth whose prosperity Turns into liquid blues, Those of summer skies Filled with potential of rains That alter fallow lands Into plentiful harvests. The same as love’s abilities To change others from singles To a unit that expands With the colors of rainbows That are always varied, Exiting changes that carried Your worries under two mind Supporting one another in a find Filled well of love that carries Change like loving swaddles Embraced in four arms of loves. The journey begins with a meeting, Attraction, connection, all can be fleeting, But you sacrifice, compromise, communicating All your hopes, then, them entwining Like the purple wisteria, two souls Becoming one, growing a family that cools Their stresses, soothes their anger, As their flow is like the ocean water, At times tranquil, others terrifying squalls That end in making up sessions, falls, Never, for they’re committed To one another, wedded.

The Nonnet isn’t an easy structure to write in, but I enjoyed the challenge.
Tsunami
Tsunami’s faithless unbelievers has drowned the world in deceit Propagating division, love money, artifice, Lies that split kinship In bid destruct Faith not a Place of Fate

Humanity’s Sins
As He carries the sins of sinners Upon his shoulders, His tears Fall for they’ve lost their way, They’ve forgotten to pray
As they stray from God’s Path into depravity, like a pod’s Frame encapsulates their sins And these pods, numerous in bins
Thrown into an ocean of lost Disciplined belief that has only ONE cost: The soul is saved and taken to heaven While the others are spewed in hell, darken
The sea of non-believers who try To manipulate the believer with stately Orations that deceive the listener Into seeming they’re great believer.

Important Insignificance
The fox enveigled the cheese from the raven, The child wheedles the cookies from parent, The dog raises his puppy eyes and melts your heart.
The birds twitter and flutter coaxing attention, The flower shyly moves its petals to receive Its caresses from the sun’s rays: nutrition!
The man wads his wallet to empress, While the woman wears her war paint as not to depress; The elderly lament their youth, and try to cajole
Their kin into longer and more frequent visits. While the individual struggles to beguile themselves Into believing they’re valued more than they are!
Ironically, they lack the vision to see their importance, That drives jealousy in others in constant Turmoil with themselves, for those lack your presence!
