Accolade for my poem, Dreary Blues

Thank you, administrators,  for the accolade and your hard work.

Dreary Blues

Melancholy’s song echoes in my heart,
It stutters to a rhythm of a dying heart
Drumming slowly in the embrace
Of loss as it envelopes me at a pace
Slower than the most romantic dance,

As the blues trumpets its slow
Flow of a soulful beat, an emotional blow
Of the harmonica’s solo swing
Creates a canvas of loss in a painting
Whose sole focus is melancholy panting

A cycle of notes, whispering their
Stormy lyrics to connect to a layer
Of depth incomparable to any before,
As it serenades your bleeding core
To expunge your melancholy as a bore

Fully comprehending that you
Can’t let the sore of the echoed blue
Make you fall when your strength has
Been proven to be warrior like and as
I knew all along, living for his death in a low bass

That heralds putting it in its sepulcher,
Locking it and throwing away the key, as per
Commands of the living to celebrate in cheer
As loss is but another gain in sheer
Ability to adapt and overcome the drear.

Diploma Certificate for my poem: Rainbow of Loss

Thank you, administrators,  for the accolade and your hard work.

Rainbow of Loss

As they embrace,
Her head nestled between
shoulder and neck, her face
In repose, as she caresses hair with keen

Fervor that helps settle
Roiling emotions of loss
That swamp the couple
After hearing of their gross

Loss: miscarriage of an awaited
Baby, planned to a tee,
Its trousseau the nursery filled
With colors as plentiful as a rainbow to easily

Locate the bundle of joy
Wherever s/he  may be playing
Mischievously, hiding, in a ploy
To circumvent the possible disciplining

That s/he would have to face
For the mess created by these
Itty bitty innocent hands that race
Across your heartstrings

Even before s/he is born
As hormones intertwine with emotions
Filled with love for a future that’s torn
Away by loss’ depressions.

The rainbow decorating the
Nursery has another goal; bright,
To help the couple find the beauty
Within that’ll help them win the fight.

Review of my poem: Death’s Door

Each time I get a review like this, it motivates me to write more and connect with those who can’t, or won’t, or couldn’t, or shouldn’t be able to express themselves.

This poem is a result of falling back into past trauma based on the wars that’s taking place in the Middle East, Lebanon, Syria,  and P@l3st!ne.

My poetry book, Perfectly Flawed poetry for change, is available on all eplatforms including Amazon.  It was on the finalist list for the Canadian Book Club Awards 2023, and also contains poetry against colonialism and the port explosion in Beirut.

‘Wish for Peace’, a poem accepted for publication

‘Wish for Peace’ is a poem reflecting on the genocide that we’re all bearing witness to. The images, sounds, emotions, fear, PTSD from bombardments’ effects, aggression, loss of entire families, murder of journalists, and much more are the basis for my ‘Wish for Peace’, not for me, but for them.

Enclosed is an exert of the poem:

Their children to schools
With filled bellies of fresh food
Sprinkled with life giving water that drools
In honor of a wish for peace that stood

On the doorstep waiting, waiting …

Gold Certificate for my poem: Portait of Regret

Portait of Regret

Pastels enrobe her, twilight presses her,
As fiery hues caress her face and hands,
As she holds a pink rose to her nose, smells
Its fragrant aroma, as she turns away for fear

And regret grip her aching heart,
As regret, twists her emotions,
Rendering her vulnerability flagrant
And easily susceptible to sensations

Running deep into a heart full
Of compassion, empathy that’s taken
Advantage of, for her convictions cull
People into rightful categories that blacken

Her illusions in kin, friends, and humanity’s
Ability to stand together against
Violence, aggression, destruction, and their powers’
Of being judge and jury to who’s allowed to lives.

Certificate of Excellence/ Valentine Special: Betrayal, My Love

Betrayal

Of my country and of my family
I have little to say, except that funny
Interactions are not always sunny …

A country’s politics and sense of justice
Can disappoint. Its favor is sandy grace
That’s gritty, scratchy, and hurts in place
Of unity that proves our solidarity in face

Of torment, terror, injustice, that train
Citizens in complacency that will rain
Upon them death, disillusionment that fain
A reality that exists in dreams that are slain. ….

My Love

If “Love opens the most impossible gates;” and
“Love is the gate to all the secrets of the universe.”
Then, love is all powerful, eternal, rebellious, never bland,
But compassionate promise In a universe

Filled with dissent, competition, a love of money,
And sin. I give thanks that my love, husband,
Is my rock, my motivator, and one key
To my writing that’s unwavering and always holds my hand. ….

My poetry book, Perfectly Flawed poetry for change, is available on all eplatforms, including Amazon.com. It was on the finalist list for the Canadian Book Club Awards 2023.

Greetings, Life

Hello life!

What have you seen?
How have you been?
Has time, in its transience, kept you keen?

Have you asked it its reason for being?
Have you asked destiny why it’s fleeing?
Have you asked faith why it’s redeeming?

Life, I wish you could respond,
My questions are many and correspond
To all that happens that only seems morbid.

News and social media, all expound on
All that is negative: violence, death, con,
Racism, segregation, depravity, and poison.

All that pessimism holds no importance
To our health and emotional stability, whose significance
Vis a vis a world that’s dominated by impudence.

Alter, change, deviate from all that’s the same,
Be ‘you’, unique, strong, and don’t play their game,
Play yours, turn it into a burning flame.

Writing poetry

Your Muse is either music (DavidArnold, Who YouReally Are, & Metamorphosis), society, you, life, relationships, dicord, or anything really. You add your words, on paper, and you get this:

Notice please: crossed out parts, lines that are supposed to an m, and personal note at the top (Kafka). Love writing!
