Certificate of Excellence for my poem,

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Butterfly

Butterfly, butterfly fly around white,
White, orange reaching out to fly,
Fly on angel wings like the butterfly,
Butterfly of varied hues give the kiss
Kiss of pollination in spring,
Spring as life rejuvenates in a painter’s
Painter’s palette, whose colors
Colors fall short of the Creator’s creations.

Accolade and Review for my poem,  Lamb’s Flourish

Malak Kalmoni. Chehab Your descriptions of autumn are glorious, Malak! Comparing the fallen leaves to a lion’s mane is brilliant, especially as you connect them with fallen glory. Then you extend your metaphor to humans: it takes courage, the heart of a lion, to drop our pretenses and show our true selves, vulnerable though they may be. Surviving the freeze of winter our spirits gallop toward renewal, all the joys of rebirth. Wonderful structure, rhythm and rhymes! Marvelous poem!!
I didn’t know about lion’s mane, both the orange flowering plant and the mushroom that grows on trees, such an amazing thing! By, Linda Powers O’Dell

Lamb’s Flourish

As the colors of fall turn into reds,
Yellows, burnished greens, browns,
That scatter the ground in their lion’s
Mane, their fallen glory, sad domains

Where it takes the heart of a lion
To shed your colorful dress of a parroting wren,
Exposing your vulnerability, a lamb in a pen,
Waiting for nature’s freeze to be a hen

That protects her chicks from the cold
Breeze stirring death in a breath, bold
Stealth to hand over death to the unsuspecting old
Bones, trunks, plants, whose hold

On life is precarious, but chance’s
Regalia leads the weak into a prance’s
Gallop towards spring, burgeoning lances
Of beauty,  strength, flowing stealing glances

At the reappearing hues of greens
Enshrining nature with a depth that preens
With its glory of colors, resounding in ferns
Hanging onto trees, like burrs, never spurns

The life flowing through vains
Flooding feelings of powerful cranes
Spreading through the undergrowth in pains
Of rebirth’s splendor and grains.

Let the lion’s mane flourish
On the grounds, never selfish
In sharing its beauty, that’ll never perish
As long as you believe in the glow of the parish.

Diploma for my poem,  Leave’s Lost Love

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Leaves’ Lost Love

We are at the cusp of diurnal times
When fall falls, leaves flee, and flown
Away into fleeting cooling breezes that crown
The tree tops in a bare coat of branches

And dying leaves whose love story
With the tree is as tragic as thee.
They try to stay connected with a fee
Of dried stems that can only cry

When the leaves finally fall
And their story ends in crackles,
Crunches of animals stepping on the backs
Of mummified soil with a tapestry full

Of golden, green, orange hues
Turning pallid the longer the stay
Before their love, weary of loss, play
The fools as they’re swept into pues

And cues to be taken and turned
Into paper for schools. The poor leave’s
Story of love is rejuvenated with heaves
A sigh of true connection with child

Whose doodles, words sweep
The pain of loss into sweeter
Reverence to new connections, beautifier
Of emotions that are expressed and deep.

Award of Excellence for my poem,

Thank you, administrators,  for the honor and your hard work

Man’s Rejuvenation

The garden begins beautifying bloom
As the birds start tweeting harmony’s tune
Waking all nature from its dormant time
Into a rainbow of brightness In June
That destroyed depression as nature’s
Beauty envelopes symphony’s prayers
Lifting soul from morass of stagnation.

Its simple beauty reigns supreme over
All that man turns complex When it’s simple
Pleasures around are enjoyed better
When all is shared with loved ones, whose ample
Support surrounds us in a balm of peace
As contemplation of beauty helps fleece
Negative into positivity.

Verses of Soul present my poem: Lonely Bench,  with this certificate

Thank you, administrators, for the honor and your hard work.

Lonely Bench

As the empty, lonely bench
Stands alone in the park’s empty lane
That was filled with pattering feet, clench
Their hands together, riding, running, fain

The need to socialize, expanding
Energy, that seems boundless,
Enjoying the freedom of summer, fleeting,
As those moments become heartless

Dissipating into the waiting emptiness
Of autumn’s fiery colors blessedly
Oblivious that summer’s cheer
Has receded into the sky’s grey, charcoaly

Horizon, never to return the same
But better, if one appreciates their
Significance: nature’s hibernation came
With a time in spring, rejuvenation’s care

That dares to bloom again,
From a seeming emptiness that’ll
Gain depth, strength,  beauty that’ll train
The eye into its wondrous refrain.

Accolade for my poem,  Fall Sunset

Fall Sunset

The flaming sun burnishes the sky
With reds and oranges
Spilling over tree tops
Like  a flame of life; let go and Fly!

Fly like the falling leaf strewn
Into an adventure to adorn
The grounds with its fragility
Rejuvenation and transiency.

As I walk in the fall streets
Littered with crunchy leaves,
Their stories resound in steps
As their strength comes back in springs

Relating of their journey
Into the soil, hibernating as a key
To Invigorate the ground with nutrients
That’ll help rekindle their growth into beauties.

Icy March!

As I watch from behind the window

Pane, the snow piled high on the sill

Obscuring nature’s rage as its spill

Of rain and snow creating a gifted bow.

Winds howling,

Snow swerves swiftly,

Banging lustfully

Straining, swinging snowy

Hands hurtling against cement,

Glass, trees, and bushes, swiping

At everything to get in, bent

On gathering warmth to keep their breath.

The heat it garners strengthens

It’s momentum and spits

More icy pellets, flakes of wet snows,

And frozen rain drops.

Icicles drip over bare bushes,

Maples, oaks, evergreens,

All dipped in icy transparent sepulcher

Foretelling breaks and deaths.

Nature’s peaceful gown,

It’s stunning frozen blaze

Will, with time melt and glow

In the blooming spring in a faze.
