Review and accolade for my poem, CHIAROSCURO

Thank you for the honor and your hard work. I always wait impatiently for your comments.  Thank you

CHIAROSCURO
Chained light,
Heavenly bright
Incessant shadow, don’t
Avert the radiance of justce
Reflecting right’s light
Offering hope when despair is
Somewhat easier to drown in, while
Courage to fight the battles of equality
Under the umbrella of darkened power
Revealed in rays that shine a ritulant glow
Over the dispossessed of humanity’s light.

Accolade and Review of my poem,  Free Speech

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Free Speech

Black cap and gown covering her
Blue eyes and Golden spun hair,
While the inspirational Statue of Liberty
Dares to hold its hand, plainly

Trying to obstruct her from
Speaking her mind, daring to come
Forward with the truth to resound
In media’s intifada while bound

In their thirst for FREE Speech
As they’re jailed for taking things out of reach
Of politicians suppressing truth
As the people dying aren’t white, but are couth

In their protests, while the police
Take away over two thousand in a thrice
To reduce the Roar for justice
That can never be returned to those advocating for peace.

Your time in office is running out
Ye of powerful friends in high places, scurry in a bout
Of flurried activities,  hidden from sight,
To better attain your objective: Money and Flight!

Certificate of Achievement for my poem, Women’s Wars

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Women’s Wars

Wars have always been about expansion,
Glorifying the ‘self’, stealing resources,
Empowering through the subjugation
Of the ‘other’ by binary opposition that courses
Through blood, and ‘elevates’ their superiority to deity.

From the Silk Road, to the Spice Road,
To the Swez Canal, White Sea, Ben Gurion,
All show the need for exclusivity for the broad
Perception of ‘Civilizing’. What a crock gone
Down the clock into eternal sleep. Happy.

For each critical endeavor, conquest,
Women rally the people, organize,
Fight, rebel, strive to keep morale, at best,
Alive within the hearts of people to strategize
Survival and the compulsion to resist oppression.

As the flowers bloom, so does the woman’s
Need to resist being lumped in a category
That she knows she doesn’t belongs
To, but rather asserts her judicial equality
In a society that’s still a patriarchy.

Her freedom, imposed by GOD,
Is taken away by men  of power
Who fear her rejuvenating strength that plod
Without thought to health or happiness,  yet a teacher
Of infinite power that blends, supports, those weaker.

Certificate of Excellence for my poem,  Huddled

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Huddled

Sheltered against nature’s outpouring
Under leaves of green, huddled together, tweeting
Our love song for all to hear and see
That strength comes from unity,
Protection comes from the will to fight
For what’s yours without thinking of the consequences of plight.

Diploma Certificate for my poem, Faerie Princess

Thank you,  administrators,  for the accolade and your hard work.

Faery Princess

The golden headed faery adorned
By her ringlets and curls, Winged
Transparent wings on her back held
Her aloft in her gauzy white gowned

Embroidered with multicolored flowers,
From hem to chest, she glows With powers
That flow through hands holding spheres
Shimmering with imagination’s beautifiers

That blaze, like lightning, into the soul
Filling them with an innate clamor for the hole
Of creativity, ideation to bloom full
Of inspiration, hard work that will dole

Out satisfaction in work done
To achieve their visions that none
Can attain without discipline,
Hard work, faith, and a will of stone.

Accolade for my poem,  Button Moulder

Thank you,  Natasha,  for the honor and your hard work.

Button Moulder

Button molds are varied in colors,
Shapes, sizes, materials that alters
The appearance of our clothing
Making us better looking.

As the button moulder statue made
From shoulders, one arm folded, never faded,
Enormous binoculars for gazing
At life’s beauty through peering

From the button’s eye, never veiled
By social screens of a fast-paced
Life filled with the ultra superficial
That tends towards the unforgiveable

That’s filled with violence of blood,
Addiction that lives in your blood,
Actions that turn a child into an orphan,
Stomping on other’s rights to be open,

Open to immorality that needs
To destruction of family unity that breeds
Bonds of compassion, empathy, forgiveness
That our superficiality doesn’t harness

The power of discipline,  strength of will,
Faith and belief in yourself that’ll never fall
For if society embued us with that, then
Rebellion would ensue as a ban for politics with pen.

Accolade for my poem: Demon

Thank you, administrators, for the accolade and your hard work. Mostly, I’d like to thank you for the uplifting critique of my writing.

Demons, to me, are the ones within that need to be silenced as they they represent negativity.  Having the will to overcome its sussurations is harder than achieving any goal needing a particular skill or talent.

Have fun dissing these demons and throwing them into a locked chest, never able to surface again.

Accolade for my poem, Dreary Blues

Thank you, administrators,  for the accolade and your hard work.

Dreary Blues

Melancholy’s song echoes in my heart,
It stutters to a rhythm of a dying heart
Drumming slowly in the embrace
Of loss as it envelopes me at a pace
Slower than the most romantic dance,

As the blues trumpets its slow
Flow of a soulful beat, an emotional blow
Of the harmonica’s solo swing
Creates a canvas of loss in a painting
Whose sole focus is melancholy panting

A cycle of notes, whispering their
Stormy lyrics to connect to a layer
Of depth incomparable to any before,
As it serenades your bleeding core
To expunge your melancholy as a bore

Fully comprehending that you
Can’t let the sore of the echoed blue
Make you fall when your strength has
Been proven to be warrior like and as
I knew all along, living for his death in a low bass

That heralds putting it in its sepulcher,
Locking it and throwing away the key, as per
Commands of the living to celebrate in cheer
As loss is but another gain in sheer
Ability to adapt and overcome the drear.

Award of Appreciation for my poem: Revolution of Change

Thank you, administrators,  for the accolade. Your hard work is highly appreciated.

Revolution of Change

Colonialism’s Ideology is based on change,
Change the ‘other’ because they’re different,
Different in language, culture, morals, beliefs,
Beliefs that spark imaginations’ Revolution,
Revolution that asserts the need to exist,
Exist in autonomy, exist freely, exist happily,
Happily maturing into adulthood,
Adulthood knowing that learning is constant,
… …

Please the dominant who seems to succeed,
Succeed in seeping into your mind,
Mind, and replacing its values with rot,
Rot that decays social values, Families,
Families are broken asunder, and the backbone
Backbone of society falls into rubble.

One of the participants getting mentioned for my poetry

Below was the picture prompt for the contest: a noble ostrish. Below is an exert of the poem:

The Perfect Politician

Regal, nose up in the air,
Well dressed, in darkened color,
Portraying his evil soul that bore
His progeny and a history of colonial flair,

In which he poses for paintings
Not pictures, wears a ruff
Underlined with piqué lace on neck and cuff,
A velour jacket with extra ruffled sleeves

In a pint to show he has an ancestry
That’s as old as time, while, his beady
Eyes, pointy nose, extra long neck, crow a lively
Tune for a more modern age, where money

Is accumulated in his neck,
Will only let him see his long nose, forever
In the throws of making more money to close

The gap between fortunes on the
Elitist echelon of power hungry
Politicians whose small minds carry
Life of thousands in abject poverty who can’t breathe.
