Certificate of Excellence for my poem, Silver Light, with a Review of my poem, by Dominique Ericilla Albano

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Silver Light

Silver light shines so bright,
Reflects on your surface in a fight
To blot out the blight
Of oppressive night.

As it shimmers on the lake
At night, it dances with shadows, fake
In their adulation of your stake
In everything that’s ensconced in black.

Its silver sheen is reminiscent
Of the clouds’ silver lining that bent
The impossible to their heaven sent
Hope, that relies on faith not being absent.

“Silver Light” by Malak Kalmoni Chehab is a poem that fits the theme “Whispers of the Night”. The poem explores the quiet, mystical atmosphere of the night, where the silver light of the moon shines bright, bringing hope and faith to the darkness.

The poem effectively captures the whispers of the night through the use of sensory language, with phrases like “night whispers fly” and “faith that whispers in corners sly”. The speaker’s emotions are palpable, and the poem conveys a sense of longing and hope.

*Line Count

There are 16 lines in the poem. The poem’s structure is well-executed, with a consistent rhyme scheme and meter that adds to its musicality. The language is rich and evocative, with a focus on the symbolism of the silver light and the moon.

Overall, the poem is a beautiful exploration of the theme “Whispers of the Night”, and it effectively captures the mystical and hopeful nature of the night.

Congratulations 👏

Diploma for my poem, Dualities

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Dualities

The binary opposition symbols in life have
Somewhat helped identify that you gave
Thought to the ‘other’ by describing
The ‘self’ through an opposing

Lense not unlike the way we divide
Our characters with Yin and Yan hide
The existence of otherness within
That is masked and out of site, in a bin.

The tree of life is no different
Then, the struggle within that’s bent
On having ‘good’ win against ‘evil’,
Knowing the oversimplification that’ll

Persuade the peridic nature of anger
To cool with the calming breeze, paper,
That hang onto the branches, safer,
As emotions try to erode its beautifier

Of shades, hues of greens, pleasing
To the eye, while knowing that changing
From one state of emotion to another
Is as fugacious as the flow of a timer

Set off too swiftly to linger
On the abstinence of a greater
Power that helps settle the struggle
Making managing life easier than trouble.

Award of Appreciation for my poem,

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Harvest Kindness

Like the roots through which life
Flows, fluctuates, and grows, flowers,
Bushes, forests blossom with ease, protectors
Of nature require no rewards in strife,

Drought, flood, or perfect weather,
Kindness given without expectations
Grows its own roots, foundations
For the hereafter that require prayer,

Respect given without limits,
Belief in the intangible, angels,
Nature’s wonderment, peace fills
Our hearts as we give and pits

Our disappointments against
Harvesting morality’s seeds
Granting Our harmony that pleads
For compassion’s empathy, a breast

Shoulder you can rely on in the worst
Times, for you’ve given freely
And your reward comes in heavenly
Support from all you’ve helped, the best

Conveyors of unrest, for they
Request only your grain of kindness
In a yield of pure emotion, bless
The quay where you can rest every day.

Diploma for my poem, The Sea

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

The Sea

Colors,  oh Colors of the sea
Dazzle my eyes to see

Your beauty’s blue hues
That impress our views

Of many blues: turquoise blues,
Greenish blue, yellowish browns, in special purviews

Where waves clamor to touch shore
In an uproar of rebellion against the sand floor

That speaks to capture its treasures
By displaying them to humanity’s burrs

As their speech, music, song, laughter
Only receed as the sun explodes in color

In a splendor of yellows and reds
That blend into sparrows of reeds

Changing in harmony with the depth of
Fear that time ends with this falling night that’s enough.

I sit in wonderment on the seashore
In contemplation to be sure

That life rises and falls,
Happiness comes in waves and balls,

While nature of the sea stays true,
Unchanging except for the season’s blue,

So enjoy the joy of the quiet balm breeze with
Compensation for a troden soul lifted to breathe.

Published my poem, Babe’s Phoenix,  in ILA Magazine

I’m deeply honored that my poem, Babe’s Phoenix, was chosen to published at ILA Magazine. Link:

https://www.ilamagazine.net/post/babe-s-phoenix

Babe’s Phoenix

Mother whose despair is like
Acrid smoke of burnt flesh
Surrounds her nightly course of fresh
Baked corpses whose breaths are a pike

Of fear that death is near,
But she carries hope on her hip
Cradled against her breast, a trip
She makes daily carrying life, as sear

Of a future, a Phoenix from the ash
Rises in the form of the innocent
Babe she holds, close to heart, bent
On giving it her life’s blood, brash

In the knowledge that her milk
Will sustain it while it syphons
Her health as nutrients, tons
Are unavailable, and sacrifice is silk

For her baby to grow on,
A Phoenix born from fire, passion,
Compassion, empathy, a fashion
That enrobes the babe, soar and don

Its firey feathers on display,
A life lived with dignity, glory,
Unparallelled beauty that’s never gory
Rather, it’s fascinating, never grey

Full of life where freedom
Expires in the ashes of
The Phoenix’s Rise, newly born, stuff
Of myth and legends alike ends’ never come.

Accolade for my poem,  Blue’s Castle

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Blue’s Castle

On a baby blue sky day, the castle
Enrobed in golden rays shining
Off arched windows, bright ball
Reflecting the lives, deaths that call

Out to the living, teaching wisdom
From history etched on walls,
There’s always a place and time
For all around to learn and come

To conclusions that help the living
Improve their plight by learning
From history’s lessons without any whispering
Of war or fight that has corpses lying

Out of sight. The whale statue adorning
The outer walls, inviting, spontaneous warning:
All to enter its domain, peering
Into a long gone era of traversing

Centuries of wisdom runs into
The Renaissance era of science
That delves into all that’s tangible, a foe
To faith that’s documented in books that grow

In importance, for the morals
Within are a blessing for the intelligent,
Who want to reduce their workload, calls
Out that learning from experience isn’t a falls.

Review for my double acrostic poem, BELLY LAUGHS POP

Thank you both for your critique. Your support is highly appreciated.

BELLY LAUGHS POP
(Double Accrostic)

Bellow, bleat, blather, blow, bloB,
Every laugh’s absurdity is in somE
Lanky’s lair making him squirm and waiL
Laughing while his belly will lolL …
Yelling, chortling, snickers all gigglY.

Lively tunes rhythmically lulL
As you take a breath and rise, A
Universal communication in perdU
Glorying in its transience that belonG
Here to help you revere each laugH
Simply to make you feel younger, and haS

Princely returns, for you to droP
Over reality into a world where chortling’s toO
Powerful to be beat by a slumP.

Certificate of Notable Submission for my poem, Mirror

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Mirror

Look into the mirror of a possible future
Where poverty is NONEXISTENT, and endless
Prospects for change and advancements race
Through imaginations running wild for a cure
To end poverty, sickness by becoming a doctor
Who heals not only the body but souls to the core.

Certificate of Achievement for my poem,  Silence’s Curator

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Silence’s Curator

The green sprouts standing like sentinels
Protecting the beauty of nature’s quiet
Harmony that pulls its nutrient
Silently from the earth to nourish the bells

Of flowers dangling haphazardly
On long stems, sending their scent
Into the air attracting bees,  birds, that lent
Their efforts to pollinate nature’s beautifully

Synced ecosystem in a paltry effort
To beautify more fully a world
Needing its slow pace to reflect, to write a word
On the journey of life’s ups, downs, twist

That have you spinning in place
Like a top without a head ruling
Its grace with patience of flowing
Oceans whose quiet but all elegance.
