Diploma for my poem,  Leave’s Lost Love

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Leaves’ Lost Love

We are at the cusp of diurnal times
When fall falls, leaves flee, and flown
Away into fleeting cooling breezes that crown
The tree tops in a bare coat of branches

And dying leaves whose love story
With the tree is as tragic as thee.
They try to stay connected with a fee
Of dried stems that can only cry

When the leaves finally fall
And their story ends in crackles,
Crunches of animals stepping on the backs
Of mummified soil with a tapestry full

Of golden, green, orange hues
Turning pallid the longer the stay
Before their love, weary of loss, play
The fools as they’re swept into pues

And cues to be taken and turned
Into paper for schools. The poor leave’s
Story of love is rejuvenated with heaves
A sigh of true connection with child

Whose doodles, words sweep
The pain of loss into sweeter
Reverence to new connections, beautifier
Of emotions that are expressed and deep.

Certificate of Appreciation for my poem, Shipwrecked Dreamer

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Shipwreck Dreamer

Dreamer, dream me a world,
World where shipwrecks don’t stand,
Stand a chance of occurring simply,
Simply because injustice doesn’t,
Doesn’t exist in its vocabulary,
Vocabulary of those who put aside,
Aside hate, prejudices, racism,
Racism that lends a hand ,
Hand to segregation, violence,
Violence based on ignorance,
Ignorance of factual reality,
Reality that’s not AI generated,
Generated to create dissention,
Dissention that makes people easier,
Easier to control in smaller groups,
Groups Whose unity is divided,
Divided so they’re sold a storyline,
Storyline they want promoted,
Promoted to make them victims,
Victims whose reality is they are,
They Are the aggressors in lamb’s skin,
Skin that’s white passing,
Passing the test of integration,
Integration into the Elitists’ circle,
Circle that turns the wheel back,
Back on sender, by destroying,
Destroying the oppressor.

Diploma Certificate for my poem,  Quietude

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Quietude

There are times when silence,
Silence is a symphony of brilliance
As you listen to your inner voice,
Voice as it expresses its wisdom in a force,
Force, that’s unrestrained in its presence,
Presence of dynamic coalescence.

Let your voice reach those,
Those whose listening ears,
Ears are prepared for change,
Change that empowers your hidden,
Hidden voice, meditation, whose opinion,
Opinion is louder than an explosion.

Explosion of colored hope,
Hope that tomorrow’s bloom,
Bloom will loom after summer,
Summer’s rainbow of flaura pepper,
Pepper the sidewalk, parks, fields,
Fields of harvests that can only feeds.

4th place, Diploma Certificate for my poem, Child’s Eyes

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Child’s Eyes

Look, look into the eyes of a cuddly child,
The window to hell peaks out instead.

Look, look into the kid’s shy demeanor
That shows he’s older than his seventh year.

He walks, cautiously, looking around, guardedly
For another back hand to the face, that’s lovely.

Look, as he flees swiftly from aggression
As a repeat is all he knows in his vision.

Look, look at his shredded clothing,
Ratty and spotty just like his living.

Look, the shimmer of tears is hovering,
Always expecting another blow that’s rending!

Look, no one’s the wiser,
Look, the guardian is the destroyer.

Look not at the cover,
But at the heart that needs a helper.

Diploma Certificate for my poem, Veiled Butterfly

Thank you,  administrators,  for the accolade and your hard work.

Veiled Butterfly

Her veil of flowers and butterflies
Flit around her head as her eyes
Wander into the night skies.

Her beauty shines through
Her astounding eyes of blue,
Framed by lashes of a brownish hue.

Her rosy lips stutter with each
Winged flap, trying vainly to catch
The flight of the butterfly and latch

Onto its fringes and take flight
With her fantasms in direct conflict
With reality’s nightmarish bite.

Her lashes flutter as her revelry
Into a utopian wonder clashes sensibly
With a reality where her veil is horribly

Marred by Stereotypes that bind
Perceptions of beauty of the mind
To terrorist activities that make you grind

Your frustrations for a lack of understanding
And communication that’s building
Roadblocks that inhibit freedom of living.

3rd Place Diploma Certificate for my poem,

Thank you, administrators,  for the honor and your hard work.

Time

Nothing lasts forever except time,
Time that rhymes with grime,
Grime that distorts our beauty,
Beauty that’s transient,  never lasts in a bevy
Bevy of buzzing bees whose sting
Sting is deadlier than any bombing,
Bombing of others to assert power,
Power that leads to atrocities of murder.
Murder or death will take us,
Us too quickly, for time flies,
Flies away As you stake,
Stake a name in this world,
World that demands your poemagranite blood,
Blod, sweat, and money,
Money to live honorably, careening,
Careening swiftly in society,
Society that binds your values,
Values you live by to survive,
Survive the war of fleeting life.
Life that makes You dependent
Dependent on others, loss of youthful,
Youthful vigor as you become a shadow,
Shadow of who you were, dynamic,
Dynamic with every step now shadowed
Shadowed by limitations of time,
Time whose shadow is darker
Darker than life’s cheer,
Cheer that demands optimism for
For a life lived in light against shadow of time.

Diploma Certificate for my poem, Faerie Princess

Thank you,  administrators,  for the accolade and your hard work.

Faery Princess

The golden headed faery adorned
By her ringlets and curls, Winged
Transparent wings on her back held
Her aloft in her gauzy white gowned

Embroidered with multicolored flowers,
From hem to chest, she glows With powers
That flow through hands holding spheres
Shimmering with imagination’s beautifiers

That blaze, like lightning, into the soul
Filling them with an innate clamor for the hole
Of creativity, ideation to bloom full
Of inspiration, hard work that will dole

Out satisfaction in work done
To achieve their visions that none
Can attain without discipline,
Hard work, faith, and a will of stone.

Diploma Certificate for my poem,

Thank you,  administrators,  for the accolade and your hard work.

Betrayal’s Ease

Shattered! Shattered mirror on the wall,
Tell me the tale of this broken heart,
Heart that was given in good faith, fall
From its bubble of joy unbound, ’till It start

Seeing a change in behavior
From her once loving spouse.
It started with little things, later
Home arrivals, short temper, grouse

As though she hasn’t accomplished
Her duties: caring for kids, perfecting
The art of home management, all his favored
Dishes made, all’s organized, unspoiled

Respect for his need to rest
After a strenuous day of work,
Not unlike hers,  but does hers count?
You might ask. The answer is, it’s all work!

Then, she finds a jeweler’s receipt,
Waits several days to receive the gift,
But nothing comes of it except pain that leapt
Creating doubt, dishonor,  hurt, she feels like a thrift

For her only treasures from him now
Are the angels asleep as she worries
What’s next.  He comes home with undies
In his pant pocket. She recognizes

The brand, of course,  it’s not hers!
She decides to shelve her negative
Assumptions,  deciding to give another’s
Chance to either talk about it or walk away to live

Without her beauty, compassion, freshness,
Empathy that come in her brand of flair,
A flair that’s still attractive, needing caress
That’ll alleviate what presses the air

Out of chocking lungs that can’t breathe
From the devastating betrayal that doesn’t ease.

Diploma Certificate for my poem, My Love

Thank you,  administrators,  for the honor and your hard work.

My Love

If “Love opens the most impossible gates;” and
“Love is the gate to all the secrets of the universe.”
Then, love is all powerful, eternal, rebellious, never bland,
But compassionate promise In a universe

Filled with dissent, competition, a love of money,
And sin. I give thanks that my love, husband,
Is my rock, my motivator, and one key
To my writing that’s unwavering and always holds my hand.

My love is there for the difficult decisions,
Guidance and friend to our children,
Has sleepless nights when they’re in positions
Of upheaval that require strategic precision.

For me, he is my star in a dark night,
The shoulder I cry into when life’s unbearable
Losses enrobe my heart in darkness, as he helps me fight
The devouring abyss making it acceptable.
As my shadow sits on the bench, alone,
My eyes mist like dew drops covering
The wet grass, as memories flood, gone,
The world has taken this love and kept living.
