Double Diamond Certificate,  Barbed Wire Heart

When a heart is encased in barbed wires, you fear for the health of its owner:

Barbed Wire Heart
Exert


Barbed wires dripping in blood
Wrap around her heart, squeezing it in a flood
Of red tears, turning white sclera into a pool
Of cherry wine, denoting melancholy’s icy cool

Creating frostbite around a heart already
So woebegone it can barely pump fluidly
Into veins and arteries distributing a lifely
Aversion to disenchantment in a worldly…

“In your light I learn how to love.
In your beauty, how to make poems.” (Rumi)


Love’s Poetry

As light is hope and all that’s bright,
Learning to love in the sun illuminates
Your perception on values, character, that fight
To blot out negativity, that’s darkened puss

That festers as an abyssimal blight
To optimism whose courage roars in
Flight to piece together poems whose bite
Is only a loving caress, as their images pin

Your beauty from words to face, wrinkled
From endured hardships but glows
With the passionate compassion of being loved.
As you shower me with light, the fight throws

Away the scourge of love’s broken heart
By filling papers with poems that brook
No argument to its plight in trying to strut
The words in verses and lines that cook

Your presence into the essence of love
Unbroken by a pessimistic world that implodes
When amour is at its best fighting in brave
Behest of a soul needing rest in paper adobes.

I’m flabbergasted by the honor bestowed on me by ZeZabek for choosing my poetry to be on par with a laureate writer.  I hope that I can rise to the occasion by writing with greater honesty,  passion, and love for the craft. Double Diamon Certificate: Faery Wonderland

Faery  Wonderland

In a faery wonderland, she’ll stand,
Hands held together in veneration for land
Whose fantastical beauty astounds,
Its colors: rainbowed pastels in grands

Accumulated in clicks of reds, blue,
Pinks, greens, whose hues flew
Across the bay, scattered haphazardly
In a motley crew of geometrically

Arranged order that’s breathtaking
In their form, as they stand as sentries breaking
….


A story of struggle that united
The varied creatures to be one,
As they strive to keep their beauty in a shrine.

Eid Mubarak

EID MUBARAK

Every Eid is like no other,

Instead of losing, think of gain, gain God’s

Deep graces that are limitless in their faces.

Mubarak, blessed we are for our breath,

Unseal our eyes and ears to hear teachings

Benefitting our earthly and heavenly lives,

Anger is an enemy,  blessed by the devil

Rearing its head to sway us away from

Amplifying our faith and practicing it

Knowing it’s our salvation to enter Jannah.

Got a certificate for poet of the month

What notable things happened today?

While receiving this certificate empowers me and motivates me to write more, it doesn’t define me. My writing was used as therapy for my recovery from surgery and expanded from there. I hope that it resonates with my audience and helps them feel less alone in a world that has the need to isolate people by creating labels for them to seperate them from one another.  Through this, they leave little room for compassion and humanity to connect, but divides.

Another thing that made me proud is the fact that I’m getting 1 poem published in an anthology,  and another piece of writing as well. Both are a part of The Unsealed online magazine.
