Accolade for my poem,  Black Wolf

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Review by Linda Powers O’Dell

Malak Kalmoni. Chehab A wonderful celebration of the wolf’s true nature, Malak. Too often vilified, wolves keep a habitat alive. All animals are innocent, we should honor them in principle. Excellent detailed descriptions and passionate ending!

Black Wolf

Oh ye baronial black wolf
Your golden eyes’ glow fiercely,
Shining a light among the blackest huff
Of dankest hour of the night, stealthily

Preying on his prey in paltry
Moonlight, pupils following, carefully,
Snout sniffing for hidden danger, boastfully,
He lunges on his prey, without mercy,

He kills to assuage his hunger,
That of his pups, pack, no blunder,
No torture, goes directly for the kill, a killer,
No psychopath, no serial killer,

He kills for survival, a part of nature
A force to be reckoned with, pure
Of heart, a defender of family, a purr
Is for happiness, making him more

Humane than a curr.

Certificate of Excellence for my poem, Break Forgive

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Break, Forgive

Forging forgiveness in volcanic lava
Offers your soul permission to regret
No more your unfavorable decisions that let
Remorse drown your happiness and stray
Into despair. Yet when facing your mistakes,
Answering for your actions alleviates the breaks.

Diploma for my poem,  Deserted Journey

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Deserted Journey

Sunset’s rutilant blaze builds a haze
Over the horizon in hues of oranges,
Golds, reds, that reflect in dust’s foggy blaze,
They’re synchronized into a ballet of ages

Long gone, when the charriot, wagon,
Animals were the only transportation
Where gumption of pioneers were driven
To survive on perilous roads where legislation

Is words dipped in coffee, disolvable,
Empty Of any dominion over Darwin
Law of ‘survival of the fittest’. They gobble
The deserted desert roads diving in

The depth of an unknown terrain
Nature and man, enemies without
Equal, as they unite to entomb pain
In the arid journey where a bout

Between enemies, ‘frenemies’
Is but the flow of the sands of times
Whose loss is intangible for honesty’s
Dissapearing into the skies in forgotten crimes.

Certificate of Distinction for my poem, Lean on Me

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Lean On Me … When

Lean on me
When you’re down on your luck,
When life’s depravity is very dark,
When you’re  feeling blue and stark,

Lean on me
When your hopes are dashed,
When your dreams have crashed,
When your love has been bashed,

Lean on me
When only a friend understands,
When only a friend stands,
When only family is your support strands.

Lean on me
When your celebration is a must,
When your happiness overflows in a bust,
When your ‘crazy’ need a fun beast.

Lean on me
When you’re at your worst,
When you’re at your best,
When you just need a friend.

Certificate of Appreciation for my acrostic poem,  SOMNAMBULISM

SOMNAMBULISM

Sleepwalking, slumbering, seeming awake,
One task down, confusion how it was done,
Maintaining eyes open, yet, still knocking
Nerves on table corners without waking,
Ambling to the door shopping for groceries,
Marveling at how you got there? Walking,
Bustling around completing your
Unconscious mind’s needs without
Leaving anything behind is astounding,
Impressive survival skills while
Sleepwalking is a
Mandatory need for those with parasomnia.

Certificate of Excellence for my poem,  Symphony of Fall

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Symphony of Fall

As the leaves fall singing a last
Hoora to sunny days, warm breezes,
Replaced with a plethora of colors that freezes
On the ground in an array of colors that blast

The verdant greens into yellowish
Greens, oranges,  and burnished reds
That crinkle, crackle beneath our feet as heads
Turn to watch the scene divided by roads of hardship

Where the greens have faded
While the other paints a palette of reds
That burn beauty Within as it delves and heads
Into the sunset with its divided colors shaded

By God’s paintbrush that never
Disappoints those who appreciate
The divinity in the balance, never late,
Always just as it equalizes reality of the creator.

Certificate of Excellence, Gold Quill, for my poem, Halloween’s Halo, and Review by Dominique Albano

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Halloween’s Halo

The halo on Halloween’s head
Heads a direct divide into dense
Fields with scarecrows on the fence
Actively aspiring to anchor a bird

So it doesn’t touch the harvest
Longing to be free to shadow dance,
Sing to the moonlit sky in a prance
That would make Dasher envy his behest

For his life is a feast of danger
Watching as prey, monsters, try
To decimate crops not theirs, and fly
Away from the field, a test, reckoning, closer

As the night darkens to a raven’s
Blackness where fear leaches
Into pores, unseen by ghosts, grinches,
Ghouls pouring out of sepulchers cravens

For their fear reeks like cyanide,
Death speeding through rows
Of crows, corn, wheat, pumpkin bows
That cinch nightly ghouls on a ride

To feast on fear’s far-reaching farm.

Review by Dominique Erecilla Albano:

Malak Kalmoni. Chehab
Your poem “Halloween’s Halo” is a wild ride! It fits the theme “Shadow Dance” perfectly – you’re painting a picture of shadows coming alive on Halloween night, dancing with spooky creatures, and embracing the thrill of the dark.

Your poem has 28 lines, and it’s a treasure trove of imagery and wordplay! You’ve got scarecrows, monsters, Dasher, ghosts, grinches, and ghouls – it’s like a Halloween party in here!

The language is rich and vivid, and you’ve created a haunting atmosphere that’s infectious. I love how you’ve woven together the themes of fear, freedom, and the thrill of the night.

Congratulations 👏

4th and 6th place for my poems, and Quietude

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

6th place:

Quietude

There are times when silence,
Silence is a symphony of brilliance
As you listen to your inner voice,
Voice as it expresses its wisdom in a force,
Force, that’s unrestrained in its presence,
Presence of dynamic coalescence.

Let your voice reach those,
Those whose listening ears,
Ears are prepared for change,
Change that empowers your hidden,
Hidden voice, meditation, whose opinion,
Opinion is louder than an explosion.

Explosion of colored hope,
Hope that tomorrow’s bloom,
Bloom will loom after summer,
Summer’s rainbow of flaura pepper,
Pepper the sidewalk, parks, fields,
Fields of harvests that can only feeds.

Certificate of Excellence with Review for my poem, Funny Sunday

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Funy Sunday

On a sunny Sunday afternoon
Their wedding Masquerade in bloom,
People dressed glowing like the moon,
While the bride and groom

Joined them in their masked
Costumes, white from head to toe,
Shiny raven black not a crow, but a bow tied
To suffocate instead of decorate the flow.

As they enter, ghouls and ghosts
Creep in droves, while Dracula drools
Over the succulent live meals in hosts,
Pros, Neffertiti, doctors, astronauts, all in pools

Surround the bride in fear as they
Prey on the dark dressed groom, whose
Tux became fodder for pirates, parrots play
Their roles driving the bride over plank in pose

Of defeat, death, depravity has no end.
But, wait! Who’s there? What’s that?
The bride swings from trees, Jane, whose bend
Of hand holds arms of freedom in a vat,

A cauldron where newt guts, brains
Of vultures, nightshade, blood that overflows
As it bublles up, swallows all it touches, cranes
Its flow into corners not to miss any blows.

Watch the witchy, whaling, warbling,
Black pointed hat flying into the air
Sprinkling her brew that’s consuming
All in a blinding jiffy like a pair in flair.

Review by Dominique Albano

Malak Kalmoni. Chehab

The poem by Malak Kalmoni Chehab is a wild and imaginative fit for the theme Midnight Masquerade. It masterfully crafts a dark and whimsical atmosphere, perfect for a masquerade ball with a twist of magic and mystery.

The imagery is vivid and evocative, transporting the reader to a world of fantasy and horror. The language is rich and sensory, with phrases like “Ghouls and ghosts creep in droves” and “Dracula drools over the succulent live meals” that conjure up a captivating atmosphere.

The poem’s themes of masquerade, magic, and the supernatural are perfectly in line with the theme, and the use of words like “Masquerade” reinforces the idea of a night of mystery and enchantment.

As for the number of lines, there are 28 lines in the poem.

Congratulations 👏🎉

Certificate of Excellence for my poem,  Moment

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Moment

Live in the moment:
Yesterday is in the past,
Burry its pains, difficulties. Learn, move on.
Tomorrow will come whether you worry
Or let things play out slowly, calmly.
Today,  the present moment
Will become past, so enjoy its transience.
So present, past, future are all but moments in time.
