As I embrace the quiet night, I let the calm moon flutter through my thought: Plans, schedules, frivolity, wonder That wanders in the quagmire Of broken dreams that I will My fortitude to take note and grill The negativity, charred into dust Of solitude that is a necessary gust.
As I look above, the sky’s scintillating Colors, whether sunrise, twighlight, sunset, or night They inspire moods that vary, like colors devoting Beauty to your every versatility, like a kite In flight, I realize, GOD, is all around Doling out beauty for your joy that’s found
In being beside you when times Are exciting, cheerful, depressing, When you look down upon ecosystems Surrounding you with miracles, outstanding In their simplicity: ant home, beehives, Even larger predators, the need survives
In each one, human, animal, insect, Knowing YOU’RE present everywhere Above, below, and at our side. In fact, That knowledge is what initiate Our appreciation for all GOD’S creations, Also innately aware of your presence’s jubilations,
That empower all to subjugate Negativity with optimism, transforming Our core into being compassionately humane.
The month of love and adoration Is the shortest one of all! Not all happiness can be packed into its summation, Short, though it is, it’s effects are a ball!
In its center, couples celebrate their love, As if, you only praise your unity then! And every other day falls short of its possessive Hold on your cheery life filled only with a pen.
The one you use to organize your life, Strategize your next goal, perfect compassion That leads to compromise and less strife, While dissent and enmity to envy’s fashion.
Duty and love are two sides of a coin, Where duty can choke the life out of veneration As it stomps out the cheer from your conjoin.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone! I know some of you may not celebrate Christmas, but you can still enjoy the time off to be together with family, loved ones, and friends. Remember during this season of giving to give your humanity and compassion free reign.

As I sleep, my mind creates a world Of imaginary beings living in harmony, Where faeries, humans, unicorns, have a word That’s heard and fuses into all that’s savory.
The faery is such a beauty, holding Audiences with all and sundry. All, all Coalesce in one community, cohabitating One space peacefully and call out, call
The world out on its synchronicity’s need to Bathe its species, human and other In a light filled with a pleasing symphony too Overpowering to be replaced with a hater
That reveals destruction of order of a solicitous Nature that helps captivate your pretentious cover Of needing love to be the universal currency instead of audacious Violence that oppresses the value of being a lover.

The online magazine, the Unsealed, has placed my poem, Twilight’s Darkened Light, in its newsletter! I’m so excited
Twilight’s Darkened Light
The night’s fading darkness Is illuminated by filaments that glimmers With piercing reddish hues Into a horizon of fading darkened blues.
With each touch of brilliant, glinting light The scenery is transformed, bright As a white pigeon in heightened flight, Soaring, like Icarus, too near the sun’s slight
Heat that tenderly caresses its feathery Wings across all living things, bravely Broaching the new day optimistically, Knowing that man’s destruction will invariably
Alter the breathtaking beauty of sunrise, Twisting its vibrancy into shades Of tenebrous grey, colorless, and lifeless, As everything becomes hopeless.
Let each new day be your oath To be stronger than the sun’s breadth, As you emulate its depth Of strength, that reigns above all in stealth.
The vanda blue orchid adorns silver, Long, wavy hair that frames her Violet hued eyes, button nose, And glistening rosy lips that pause
With each end note of the violin’s Hearty tune, that attracts butterflies, Transparent to royal purple hues, Flitting around her feet in sublime harmonies
With the birds that soar higher, As though being strummed better Through the violin’s strings That are taut in their place that brings
Wonder and symphony of animal And human lives intertwined in a primal Need for survival with a core Of compassion that’s human and not a bore.
For one of my poems using a quote from Desmond Tutu about hope.
My poetry book, Perfectly Flawed poetry for change, combines themes about relationships, postcolonialism/ social criticism, and self-perception/ awareness/ growth.
