Ramadan Goodbye
As the last prayers of the night end,
Tears rain down on the ground
Turning into a pond,
A pond filled with sorrow as fasting
Ends, our togetherness stuttering,
Our veneration For HIM unending.
Though the days for repentance
Will return in another year, I hope my lance
Of piety, strength in faith will take a stance
In the forefront of my life
Never leaving my side to be rife
With uncertainty that leads to strife.
Oh ye days of Quranic revelation
Come back swiftly with permission
To stay longer in our hearts as compassion,
Veneration and humbleness stay
Enslaved within our hearts to pray
For your return and never be gray.

Lonely Bench
As the empty, lonely bench
Stands alone in the park’s empty lane
That was filled with pattering feet, clench
Their hands together, riding, running, fain
The need to socialize, expanding
Energy, that seems boundless,
Enjoying the freedom of summer, fleeting,
As those moments become heartless
Dissipating into the waiting emptiness
Of autumn’s fiery colors blessedly
Oblivious that summer’s cheer
Has receded into the sky’s grey, charcoaly
Horizon, never to return the same
But better, if one appreciates their
Significance: nature’s hibernation came
With a time in spring, rejuvenation’s care
That dares to bloom again,
From a seeming emptiness that’ll
Gain depth, strength, beauty that’ll train
The eye into its wondrous refrain.

As autumn’s golden beauty glows
Reflecting old times that flows
In the changing seasons and blows
Away nostalgia’s despair with cooling clowns
Whose smiles crush changes placing crowns
Upon fallen heads in piety to Godly
Gifts of senses that change in a timely
Fashion to help navigate a world poorly
Equipped to bend to change, purposefully
Striving to be godly, but time syphons youth’s vigor.
