SOMNAMBULISM


Sleepwalking, slumbering, seeming awake,
One task down, confusion how it was done,
Maintaining eyes open, yet, still knocking
Nerves on table corners without waking,
Ambling to the door shopping for groceries,
Marveling at how you got there? Walking,
Bustling around completing your
Unconscious mind’s needs without
Leaving anything behind is astounding,
Impressive survival skills while
Sleepwalking is a
Mandatory need for those with parasomnia.

I diotic habits reveal your character
D ive into your idiosyncrasies, unique
I n their ability to convey your thoughts
O ver ideologies, news, politics,
S ystems of economy, integration,
Y ule tidings of compassion, empathy,
N ever ending supply of understanding
C aring for others is our new idiosyncrasy
R evealing our humanity is still
A live and kicking, simple
C are of knowing yourself as human, imperfect
Y et still childish enough to laugh at yourself.

PHILOSOPHY

Pile the perspectives of centuries of philosophies
Humming different tunes in harmony
Interpreting the meaning of life differently
Losing leverage over life when it reduces,
Oversimplifies realities into ideology that’s
Secularly scientific without delving deeper
Omitting hidden truths for
Pushing their story, ideology that
Hinders understanding the larger vision
Yet to be seen when your blinders reveal.

Under extenuating circumstances of flying bombs
Retreating into cover, returning, knowing the danger

Governing the truth that has been in a abyss
Encouraged to see the light with their COURAGE.

Accolade and Review for my poem, FEAR, BREATHE,  THINK, ACT

FEAR, BREATHE, THINK, ACT

FEAR
Fear: fast heart beats feasting feverishly
Every time fear ramps serotonin quickly,
Amply avid in avoiding pain, fastidious in
Remaining alive to tell the tale of FEAR.
FEAR

BREATHE  …
Barely breathing, the brain astoundingly
Reveals its respiratory ease, by reviewing
Every fear, entering the data, waiting
Another moment for analysis, wading,
Through the morass of a lack of logic,
Hearing only haloed heartbeats, heaving.
Eternally aware of time flowing: BREATHE.
BREATHE ..

THINK …
Through and push through thinking
Halves my reasoning, homing only on survival
Instead of clarity of thought,
Never receiving the memo of
Knowing that ‘fight or flight’ is all in a knot. THINK.
THINK …

ACT …
Actively, arduously permitting action that
Covers slippery seconds of being frozen, while
Time reveals your success, failure, and your missing fervor.
ACT …

Needing the support of friends, family,
Creating a buffer to melancholy’s
Hold on emotions that lend a hand to
Overcoming despair’s grip from
Loss’s leveling your blubbery heart,
Yielding to an overflow of emotions, needing a cap.

Corruct politicians commit crimes
Overlooked for their power trumps
Reality, facts, fairness, equality,
Remembering that by creating
Unprecedented division, depravity, you
Part unity of the people whose humanity
Tends to be set aside for peer pressure
Imposing the rule of the deceiver
Operating on manipulating those weaker
Needing corruption to be rampant while they plan.
