i'm a survivorof 2 civilwars, Ghana, Lebanon, all before the age of 11. The result was immigration to 3 continents as a teen, which leaves an influence upon the soul that cries out for justice. My poetry and writing reflect that and more.
As I embrace the quiet night, I let the calm moon flutter through my thought: Plans, schedules, frivolity, wonder That wanders in the quagmire Of broken dreams that I will My fortitude to take note and grill The negativity, charred into dust Of solitude that is a necessary gust.
As I sleep, my mind creates a world Of imaginary beings living in harmony, Where faeries, humans, unicorns, have a word That’s heard and fuses into all that’s savory.
The faery is such a beauty, holding Audiences with all and sundry. All, all Coalesce in one community, cohabitating One space peacefully and call out, call
The world out on its synchronicity’s need to Bathe its species, human and other In a light filled with a pleasing symphony too Overpowering to be replaced with a hater
That reveals destruction of order of a solicitous Nature that helps captivate your pretentious cover Of needing love to be the universal currency instead of audacious Violence that oppresses the value of being a lover.

The online magazine, the Unsealed, has placed my poem, Twilight’s Darkened Light, in its newsletter! I’m so excited
Twilight’s Darkened Light
The night’s fading darkness Is illuminated by filaments that glimmers With piercing reddish hues Into a horizon of fading darkened blues.
With each touch of brilliant, glinting light The scenery is transformed, bright As a white pigeon in heightened flight, Soaring, like Icarus, too near the sun’s slight
Heat that tenderly caresses its feathery Wings across all living things, bravely Broaching the new day optimistically, Knowing that man’s destruction will invariably
Alter the breathtaking beauty of sunrise, Twisting its vibrancy into shades Of tenebrous grey, colorless, and lifeless, As everything becomes hopeless.
Let each new day be your oath To be stronger than the sun’s breadth, As you emulate its depth Of strength, that reigns above all in stealth.

The vanda blue orchid adorns silver, Long, wavy hair that frames her Violet hued eyes, button nose, And glistening rosy lips that pause
With each end note of the violin’s Hearty tune, that attracts butterflies, Transparent to royal purple hues, Flitting around her feet in sublime harmonies
With the birds that soar higher, As though being strummed better Through the violin’s strings That are taut in their place that brings
Wonder and symphony of animal And human lives intertwined in a primal Need for survival with a core Of compassion that’s human and not a bore.

My poetry book, Perfectly Flawed poetry for change, is socially relevant, as it puts relationships, postcolonialism/ social criticism, and self-awareness/ growth. The social crisis that we are encountering have a place in the poems that are both rhythmic and grab the reader’s imagination.
Cowgirl boots, shorts, and off the shoulder Shirt, a toddler holding the phone Speaking to her brother, who’s far, Far from home. She gurgles her love,
At times incomprehensibly, laughing At his replies that have adoration Light up her eyes as hearing His voice is her drug of choice, a succession
Of discordant sounds, she interprets With a beatific cacophony of cries That invade your heart with warmth that’s A test to your all encompassing hearts.
For one of my poems using a quote from Desmond Tutu about hope.
My poetry book, Perfectly Flawed poetry for change, combines themes about relationships, postcolonialism/ social criticism, and self-perception/ awareness/ growth.
I’m great at helping others in the fields. I feel I have a certain expertise, like listening to others’ likes and implementing them, especially if it has to with cooking or baking. The latter is, at times, a therapeutic form of stress relief, where I get to chop things and bludgeon the dough into submission đ. I’m generally a great listener, except when someone is stubbornly narrow-minded, then i prefer not to converse or listen to them.
As an MA holder in English Literature, I l9ve to read, the more varied the better. I also write opinions, editing of thesis, poetry, and judging different types of books: novels, anthologies, and poetry. When it comes to my writing, I know I’m verbose, visual, and descriptive, which help when I feel stuck while I write. I like taking a detour in my writing before completing my original ideas.
As a daughter, wife, and mother, I love nurturing those I believe are mine! They all enjoy their food more when I make it, even if it’s a lowly sandwich đĨĒ đ!
I’m an excellent helper to those who ask for it, or not, as I insert my services without being asked. That can lead to problems with some people, apparently! But, I don’t know why!
My poetry book, Perfectly Flawed poetry for change, raises a variety of themes that are humane in nature: relationships, postcolonial/ social criticism, self-awareness/ growth.
