Platinum Certificate for my poem, Rebellion Yell

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Rebel Yell

Freedom is not given but taken,
Taken through the drive,
Drive of the oppressed to stay,
Stay the course in their rebellion,
Rebellion that insights thoughts,
Thoughts that revel in rocking,
Rocking the boat of taught habits,
Habits that destroy creativity,
Creativity needs a voice, medium,
Medium to transform its message,
Message that change is coming,
Coming to overthrow the tyrant,
Tyrant who exploits, destroys,
Destroys hopes, imagination,  freedom,
Freedom that ‘comes with great,
Great responsibility’, for its value,
Value lies in one’s ability to soar,
Soar, without hindrance, to reach
Reach the pinnacle of wonder,
Wonder that wanders stealthily,
Stealthily seeping through cracks,
Cracks that mold into a unit,
Unit that’s unbreakable with the help,
Help of imagination’s power,
Power that strives for justice,
Justice that reigns over happiness,
Happiness that cleaves subjugation.

Accolade and review for my poem, Resistance Is Futile

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

‘Resitance is Futile’*1

We’re being bombarded, daily,
By subliminal messages, hourly,
Whispers of drugs, violence, alcoholics’ enduced hazes, minutely,
Incorporated in ALL media, compulsively.

Resistance is Futile …

Words, sounds, images coalesce
Into an indoctrinated presence
That’s insidious in its convergence
Into your mind, creating a blinding trace

For behaviors that are incongruent
With ‘our’ Ideals of humanity, that are esculent
By mediocrity of addiction becoming permanent,
As our dependence skyrockets into exponent …

‘Resitance is Futile’ …

As our struggles persist,  our
Vision, imagination, purveyor
Of our strength of cohesion, flutter
Into a bud that flourishes in power.

As ‘Resistance is Futile’,

Our obstacles remain tangible,
Yet, clearly, unattainable.
The need to strive to be corrigible
Is embedded in our DNA, for hope is always tenable.

Thus:
‘Resitance is (Not) Futile.’

Thank you, administrators,  for the accolade and your hard work.

Bound Butterfly

Though her wrists be bound
Their elegance and movement do astound
Their delicate strength holds life
In its tiny yet powerful softness rife

…..

Mountains spreading knowledge,
Purity of heart,  its muse for an adage
That’ll live on after the butterfly ‘s death
And the bound woman, but their breath

Filled with hope flies, like a kite,
Spreading harmony that’s always bright.

Acrostic

Internet has facilitated global connections
Never stop the growth of  writers
That rend their hearts as    theIr words flow
Empowering the weak to
Remember their worth
Never succumbing to oppression’s
Timely propagation that    cleAves
Intimate family                   meMbers into
Open enemity, clearly ‘Dividing & Conquering’
Needlessly aggressive, destructive,
Avid in mercilessly taking resources And
Leaving nothing to the Indigenous peoples.

Write, revel, rebel, roast, rumble the gruesome
Reality of a world built on Materialism
Instead of unity of humanity       peeP
That lends compassion and     succOr that
Eventually works together against thE oppressor
Ruining the ecology,                 separaTing family,
Solidifying Darwin’s rules of supremacy

Dealing in strength that overpowers others
Amid illegal, inhumane practices that have
Yet to be punished.

WORLD POETRY DAY
Double acrostic

Wondrous words                Whirl around and
Over a reality created by wOrlds in images, that are
Readily available              foR consumption,
Leading to leveling the  fieLd of wonder
Down into a frozen              Dream filled with rhyming

Poetic world made up of a  Plethora
Of offerings of a utopian   bOunty imagined by an
Eternal imagination        nevEr grinding
To a stop, as its renewed     Tunneling to greater
Rewards as newer worlds  aRe revealed
Yearning for the                  crY of revelations.

Drive your curiosity to    conDemn the oppressing
Arm of murderers of imaginAtion who travel
Yards over supremacy overtlY conscious of the squelched word.

VANITY!

Trends, trends, trends, ….

What’s fashionable tells the story of who you are,

While your actions are relegated to a back burner,

That villifies your values and highlights your looks.

Artifice and vanity are like slack water

They stagnate the individual’s personality for

It remains mired in what people want you to be

Your own unique brand that flows against the trend.

Not what you should be, nor how to develop

Rebel against being brainwashed into looking ‘right’ To ‘fit in’ .

Stand tall. Create waves, tsunamis

For change and differences rather than being a copy!
