Diploma for my poem, Rose’s Deity

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Roses’ Deity

Oh Aphrodite,  your white roses
Bloom to honor your deity, a groom
Of reverence to unwavering gloom
That pricked himself and turned them reds.

Yet those peaceful doves bestow
Calm innocence facing despair
With only thorns as weapons to repair
The damage done to the chaos that’ll blow

Up in the faces of those who’ve
Forgotten the hymns of gratitude
That revel in atonement embued
In simple living, where new beginnings have

Been lauded for their vision
Of graceful kindness, given, returned,
Through the fragile fairness, whose scent attracted
Its audience into presiding over confusion

With leadership in radiance,
Transparent in its intentions,
Gracious in its need for interventions
That create connections, reverence

For simple human kindness.

Diploma for my poem,  Cradled Moon

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Cradled Moon

Dressed in white, hair, a golden flax,
She lays on the fluffy white cloud
Bent in a fetal position, arms hold
The fluorescent moon under chin, lax,

In rest, she poses a vision of calm
As the moon shines brilliantly
In a frame to keep the fearfully
Looped worries away from her palm,

And creates a luxurious beam
Enrobing her in warmth Of light
As she slumbers in the clouds’ soft, bright
Lumanescence whose role is to brim

With courage and fight against
The terrors within, A heroine never
Given any fame, but like the moon, it’s a killer
Of monsters that create panic, at a cost

Too high to endure, if it were not
For the peaceful moon laying in arms
Breaching the towers of fright, it calms
The dread, horrors that she faught.

Certificate of Excellence for my poem,  Huddled

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Huddled

Sheltered against nature’s outpouring
Under leaves of green, huddled together, tweeting
Our love song for all to hear and see
That strength comes from unity,
Protection comes from the will to fight
For what’s yours without thinking of the consequences of plight.

Certificate of Excellence for my poem:

Thank you, administrators, for the accolade and your hard work.

Children’s Hunger

Famine, hunger in such young eyes
Makes your heart flutter and cries
Out for the injustice of their plight
Where food is scarce and working is a fight

Among brothers, sisters, kin to survive,
Survive with enough only to strive
The next day, another forage, another clash,
To sustain an entire family in a brush

With death, daily success to survive
Kills the will to endure, while their eyes drive
Knives in your heart for their struggle,
Struggle to stay together and not take the last bubble

Of air before their father, mother,
Cousin bring a tiny loaf of bread, sharer
Of life giving nourishment is never enough
To end the hunger pains or despair enough

To feel safe that another day
Will shine bright with hope to sway
The powers to help end famine,
Children growing old before their time in fine

Slithers of hope that shine
Through black clouds of hopeless brine,
Brine of depression’s hold that flogs
The will to survive another empty stomach that bogs

Their thinking process to when’s
The next meal, how to get it, who’s pens
Do they take from to stave death
Another day where rest, play aren’t in their path.

Certificate of excellence, Flighty Hearts

Flighty Hearts

Love our paper hearts
Easy to tear,
but cuts
Like a bear.

Its unique shape
Lends to despair,
When it broke
By your hand and air.

Its unique shape
Rises into fullness,
Then dips in face
Of falsehoods that pierce…

Look into its shape
That seems divided
Into yay and nay, a cape
Of vascillation that cried,

Its tear wails
Till eye sight goes blind
With too many choices
And decisions that bind.

Oh ye who have
A paper heart,
Let its love
Blind you and never cut.

Enigmas Galore

The world is a mystery,
Its ecosystems are all aflurry
With busy microsystems that bury
Secrets we need to survive in a hurry.

Within the Amazon forest
That’s teaming with microcosms, that test
The geniuses who uncover their best
Kept perplexing plexus in a quest

For cognizance of what may stop death.

Searching oceanic reefs for answers,
Is another forager for more enigmas,
That’ll blow your mind in amazements,
Which serve humanity’s placements

Above all in food chains, that destroy,
Instead of build and preserve your coy
Knowledge that man can toy
With nature and devastate in a ploy

To persuade all that He’s superior
While being ignorant of ‘self’ and ‘other’,
Where ‘other’ may be race or
Flaura, fauna, marine, that forever

Amaze in their aesthetic and giving nature.
Awake! Awake from your slumber
And remember, life doesn’t need your surrender!

Covid

So 2 years have passed and I’ve been lucky not to have gotten infected by covid. Until now! The only time you need a test to be negative, it turns out positive!

Everyone, please be careful out there.

Protect yourselves and others.

Let’s hope I can be productive sitting at home! Yah right!
