We are at the cusp of diurnal times When fall falls, leaves flee, and flown Away into fleeting cooling breezes that crown The tree tops in a bare coat of branches
And dying leaves whose love story With the tree is as tragic as thee. They try to stay connected with a fee Of dried stems that can only cry
When the leaves finally fall And their story ends in crackles, Crunches of animals stepping on the backs Of mummified soil with a tapestry full
Of golden, green, orange hues Turning pallid the longer the stay Before their love, weary of loss, play The fools as they’re swept into pues
And cues to be taken and turned Into paper for schools. The poor leave’s Story of love is rejuvenated with heaves A sigh of true connection with child
Whose doodles, words sweep The pain of loss into sweeter Reverence to new connections, beautifier Of emotions that are expressed and deep.
Their heartfelt embrace broke With the quaking ground that tore, tore Them apart and flooded the chasm that spoke Of differences, unbridgable, a core, core
So radically divergent from the other That rickety, flimsy slats bound, bound By fraying ropes fall short to cover The water separating a union found, found
In red’s passionate shroud dissipating In a cloud of vapor where souls, souls Soar into the ritulant sunset, grasping For one another in a spiritual stroke of ghouls
Whose envy, susurations, capitulation To pressures of a world of depravity, depravity That bolsters disunity when coordination And sacrifice would have paved a byway, byway
To an enduring love where spirits And passion meet on a plane, plane Of convergence, compassion whose flights Soar with imagination into utopia’s crane, crane.
Slumbering passively on such power Of love’s adulation is a great loss, Loss To both parties and society for the coffer Than holds sacred bonds collapse, collapse.

Your poem, “The Syren’s Serenade,” perfectly captures the essence of the theme “Moonlit Tides.” The moonlit setting and the use of tidal metaphors effectively evoke the idea of powerful emotions and movements.
Here’s a breakdown of your poem:
– The syren’s serenade represents the call of hope and humanity, urging people to take a stand against adversity. – The moonlit sky and waves create a sense of wonder and beauty, contrasting with the struggles and hardships faced by those in the poem. – The themes of survival, faith, love, and empathy are woven throughout the poem, highlighting the resilience of the human spirit.
Your poem effectively explores the theme, and the line count is accurate.
Congratulations 👏
Thank you for the honor and your hard work. Mostly, thank you for the critique that demands i raise my writing to a higher level.
The Syren’s Serenade
The syren serenades the waves To a symphony of tunes that raves About the moonlit sky filled with stars Telling stories of outrageous quests
Some for saving loved ones as they traips Into dangerous mountains, never fails To entertain, garner emotional travails Of terror, survival, guilt, regret for losses quails
The strength of faith, Belief in the quests, Yet, they listen to the serenade of nights Filled with wild sounds, crackling fires, that fights The darkness of despair’s hold that blights
Happiness’ divinity that always gladdens The soul in gratitude for the simple gardens That grow In eternal darkness within heaven’s Parade of scintillating beauties that never listens
To the cry of those sailors whose homes Are all they wish for, for there peace comes Within the arms of loved ones whose Love, empathy bind them to the cause,
A cause whose tides rise in the night But caress the shore In the fight For taking a stand with humanity Never resting till peace isn’t wishful thinking.

Who am I? I’m orange, oblong, striped, And used by Cinderella’s Fairy godmother in a chariot Fit for a princess!
Who am I? I’m still orange, some yellow, Others green and pear like, It’s used with a scarecrow To scare off birds and scavengers, kite Like in their freedom to perch, alone.
Who am I? I’m the perfect accoutrement To Thanksgiving dinners with Joy, appreciation, laughter that comment On the importance of being together with our breath Mingling with loved ones in a moment we treasure.
Who am I? I’m the unsung hero of Thanksgiving Used in sweet and savory dishes Used as a lamp for decoration of living Homes who create a world of grinches, Monsters, ghosts, and gools for entertaining.

She looks out of her window Where the darkness covers the world Beyond her room filled with pink roses, in low Vases, littered on her windowsill, not a coward,
She watches the storm brew from within, Safe in her harbor, a haven of scents adorn Her with mystique, incomparable to the crow who built in Its home outside her window in a flow of corn
Ears reaching up to the sky, pleading, Pleading for rain to steep the soil with Life giving water, rejuvenating, healing, Giving abundance where famine takes away breath
Of life on a scorching summer day. She watches, lightning flutter in brilliant light As thunder booms its might, scaring those in play With extenuating fright whose plight
Will drown out their fears, replacing Them with a pinhole of hope shining Through the darkest raven blackness flying Into the sky with optimism sparking
A deluge of creativity unbound by earthy Trifles that bog the soul into a rut of endless routine.

I’m so honored to have been chosen from among around 500 applicants to be featured in this Anthology! What’s even better is that all profits from the book go to helping eliminate child hunger, and this book is dedicated to children in Gaza.
I’d recommend you all buy it if for no other reason than to promote healthier children lives.
Thank you, Matt Elmore, for insisting that I apply. Your support means a lot to me.
I’ll inform you of the date the Anthology comes out at and the Kindle version that’ll be available.
