Certificate of Outstanding for my poem, World in Your Palm

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

World in Your Palm

As technology evolves, our mode
Of communication increase, and the code
For communication changes in a dire
Attempt to keep up with the choir

Of voices raised as they speak
Simultaneously, seeking a close peck
On the cheek, can be seen not felt,
Still, it reduces the Nostalgia you get

Missing loved ones, home,
Foods and culture that come
To your aid as your workplace
Requires ethics that are not of this place.

As days go by, news becomes
Scarce, worry alienates you from homes,
But, worry not, your phone, window
To the world, can show you

Any location instantly with a touch,
Especially when internet is a bunch
Of wireless connections that fail
In the face of exploding bombs that quail

And break the access to people,
Your cell is your weapon to gobble
Any news of home, under siege,
Your hopes revolve around posts on a page

That gives news, any news,
News that spews lies in cues
With political backing that refuse
To admit their subterfuge, that’s of no use,

As we can see, through our cell,
Dead fetus being extracted from the rubble,
Decapitation, amputations, and remains
In bags of flour, plastic bags, even backpack that rains

Blood on the already sodden ground.

Certificate of Outstanding for my poem, Sea’s Sunset

Thank you, administrators, for the accolade and your hard work.

Sea’s Sunset

The clouds climb high, like mountains
In the sky, some are smaller and stains
The sky, like a painter, with red, pink, blue,
Orange that coalesce Into a darkened view

Of immeasurable beauty of the setting sun
Burning the sky’s clouds with its breath that’ll run
Over the setting sun with a scenic beauty
Unparalleled by any ‘Man’, for the creator, wisely

Intensifies the pull to nature
So that it increases our faith’s cure
For depression, stress, anxiety
That are alleviated by streaky

Waves that pummel the shore
With a power whose core
Is just three atoms, but their strength
Comes from their unity of breath

That lives for all to enjoy
If only you take the time not to be coy
In appreciation of the majesty that is
All around you, and found within the peaks

Of waves, white foamy appearance,
But feel and taste salty which grace
The sand with an abundance of plentifulness
That eases the pangs of hunger without avarice.

Certificate of Outstanding,  acrostic poem: SOVEREIGNTY

SOVEREIGNTY

Suffocating the subjugated with sovereignty
Openly uttering negativity to sublimanate the
Vanity of the sovereign imposing rules,
Entertaining the ‘other’ to propagate being
Receptive to differences and acceptance of
Even alteration of ‘self’ to become
Instantly ‘sovereign-passing’, whose race is unimportant
Gravitating to implementing a ‘New’ identity,
Needing integration into society,  never
Trusting that your OWN IDentity identifies
Your language, culture, civilization that’s uniquely You.

Certificate of Outstanding,  poem, The Cycle of Life

Thank you administrators for the honor 🎖

The Cycle of Life

Life, birth, wedding, and death
Are the closed cycle of life’s
Unending strive to surmount its stresses.

The closed circle cycles in an infinite loop
Starting with an infant, needing an endless group
To help with the raising of those so dependent.

Youth and the need for friendship and peers
Is the first of many changes rolling fears
Into those struggling with new responsibilities.

Adults have to balance the circles
Of friends,  family, spouse, collegues, and babes
Creating an equilibrium that feeds their joy’s
Rather than their emptiness, loneliness.

Seniors bend and flex back into a state
Of infancy, dependency, and put a stake
In what they perceive as the end, death.
But is death an end or a start?

Does the cycle end?
Or is it perpetuated in a new bend
That begins after one’s end?

What comes first: the beginning or the ending
The egg or the chicken,  the mother or child?
Where does it all really end?
