Land and See
The cape on the Mediterranean Sea is full of life,
Sea and land touch, mingle, and rejuvenate one another
Feeding life, withdrawing, touching, freer than a lear.
The mountains roll into the plains, then into the sea.
The scenery is breathtaking and full of variety:
A hinterland populated, busy with life and fun,
Where buildings and homes intersect in a pun,
Where the water touches the land, retreats, and returns frequently.
Watching those cities from above is like watching
A reel of the twenties where everything is in slow motion,
Leaving an image, a smell, a laugh and glorying
In the fabulous way Middle Easterners show emotion.
Their carefree cheer is contagious, although
I knows That beneath the smiles, there lies a valley filled
With depression, agonies of past wars, struggles
To simply survive in a world that others take for granted.
I wish upon a star for them to have a better life,
Filled with ease and love while knowing that the government
Tears the people asunder by pocketing what should be theirs.
The disillusionment and disparity in their lives is painful to see.
Yes wishing is all I can do, as the world is run by politics,
And those are governed by SuperPowers that we have
No control over, as they impose their reign and expects
Blind obedience otherwise Consequences ensue.
Grow!
Fie, fie, fie!!! I say: “Fie! It’s such a lie!”
“What is it?” I ask, that’s so incongruous it needs to die?
Fie, fly, try, cry, buy, sky, dry,
Don’t let what baffles you turn you into a sty.
Look, learn, open your mind to find That knowledge breeds understanding of a kind.
The type of compassion and reverence
For life and faith requires a great severance.
By demolishing the barriers, bonds, and stereotypes
You rise above the blinders that society supplies.
Have the courage, fortitude, and puissance
To face the ingrained beliefs about the other without patience.
Cleave your heart from your mind, and let
Objectivity reign over ignorance and don’t fret.
The world is chaotic enough without your pettiness,
Leave it behind, conquer it’s dreary unhappiness.
By imposing your faith in God and yourself,
You grow more holistic, compassionate, and selfless.
Permit your faith in humanity grow to eradicate
Inequality, racism, sexism and imperialism, as it’s never too late!

Just Money
Just, lust, must,
Guts, gusts, and grubs
Champs, chumps, and lumps.
All in all, they all face the power of the just.
Who comes first, who loses is inapropos
As long as they know that injustices can’t go unpunished!
Crime, criminal, abuser, traitor, saviors
All have time to face the music, all pained.
Those who break it, must inevitably, dance to the tune,
The music of victory over poverty and those weakly,
Gingerly try to step away from heads that roll,
Playing the part of the weakling who’s accused wrongly.
Oh what would it be like to find a world where justice
Is not only a must, but applies to all stratas of societies
Whether poor, middle class, rich, or multicultural,
All revere the law and all that’s lawful.
Oh how convenient it is to fall into the cracks
Of those who judge others by their looks
Rather than their actions, that require faith in a broken
System that reveres the material more than ethics.
Yawning Emptiness
Soul to soul.
Mind to mind.
Heart to heart.
Proud of you as mine!
Mine is yours, and yours is mine! Fical as man is, his bound heart
Is hooked to mine, while all else is fine.
On an auspicious, creepy eve, dark clouds
Suspended over the moon, blocking its lights.
‘The lover’s moon’, it’s called, as nothing in lifes
Stays as bright as moon beams, like faery dusts,
It flits ethereally into the yawning emptiness,
Lighting crescents of brilliancy that contrasts
Heavily against pitch blacks.
On this haloed night, the valentine is scarce,
He hides in the shadows, vainly trying not to be a farce.
He flits from place to place vying for the best gifts,
He dwells in darkness, fearing that light highlights
His ever growing flaws.
He hides, he seeks, but his valentine stays unsent.
Sounds slowly started to seep through the fog of sleep. Smells came next, as they tickled my nose with enticing scents. My eyelids strove vainly to keep a hold on my dreams, but they ever so slowly cracked open and rose to reveal my chocolate brown eyes, still dazed from sleep. The smell of coffee lingers in the air, entrenched in every nook and cranny, waiting for my awakening in order to shake me back into the world of the living.
Dreaming is easy, it’s making your dream a reality that’s difficult. It requires organization, strength of will, moral support, and money.
Open Heart
What is a heart?
Is just the physics of pumping blood?
Is it a chemical reaction that spurs your heart?
Or is it the emotions that empower you in a flood?
The heart full of compassion, love, passion,
And empathy, heralds horror for those who honor
Their loved ones, friends, and co-worker.
They fear their tender heart will be crushed by disillusion.
What do you inundate your heart with to keep it safe?
Do you pour cement in it to harden and protect
Your deliriously delicate heart from hurt?
Do you swamp it with frozen clumps of ice?
Or do you keep it open for more disappointment?
Fear of being wounded by others can be paralyzing,
For out of dread, you might drive those closest
To you away by building fortified walls around your heart.
Yes, hope and trust in others CAN be painful,
But do you retreat and hide?
Or do you expose your compassionate heart
To ensnare others in your warmth?
The decision is yours, of course,
But don’t miss out on life’s pleasure Just because a few experiences were sour!
