Award of Appreciation for my poem, Harvest Kindness

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Harvest Kindness

Like the roots through which life
Flows, fluctuates, and grows, flowers,
Bushes, forests blossom with ease, protectors
Of nature require no rewards in strife,

Drought, flood, or perfect weather,
Kindness given without expectations
Grows it’s own roots, foundations
For the hereafter that require prayer,

Respect given without limits,
Belief in the intangible, angels,
Nature’s wonderment, peace fills
Our hearts as we give and pits

Our disappointments against
Harvesting morality’s seeds
Granting Our harmony that pleads
For compassion’s empathy, a breast

Shoulder you can rely on in the worst
Times, for you’ve given freely
And your reward comes in heavenly
Support from all you’ve helped, the best

Conveyors of unrest, for they
Request only your grain of kindness
In a yield of pure emotion, bless
The quay where you can rest every day.

Accolade for my poem,  Killing Hunger

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Killing Hunger

Famine has lent a scrawny
Build to people’s agony
Of being constantly hungry
They search, vainly, for sustenance that cry:

Killing hunger is a crime

Of conscience for food is plentiful
If shared, not horded in a full
Contingent of warehouses where gruel
Is hidden from the poor, while for the fanciful

Killing hunger is a rhyme

For each individual to recall
For each crumb means a loss of a ball-
Room of people daily who have none but fall
Groveling for a pittance to call

Killing hunger is a crime

Of outstanding proportion
For man’s compassion
Has died with the materialization
Of the individual needs before population

Killing hunger is a rhyme

That never ends, a cycle of obsession
Survival of the Ego before orchestration
Of growth for all that leads to destruction
Of cries and perspiration

Killing hunger is a crime
With no reason or rhyme.

4th place, Diploma Certificate for my poem, Child’s Eyes

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Child’s Eyes

Look, look into the eyes of a cuddly child,
The window to hell peaks out instead.

Look, look into the kid’s shy demeanor
That shows he’s older than his seventh year.

He walks, cautiously, looking around, guardedly
For another back hand to the face, that’s lovely.

Look, as he flees swiftly from aggression
As a repeat is all he knows in his vision.

Look, look at his shredded clothing,
Ratty and spotty just like his living.

Look, the shimmer of tears is hovering,
Always expecting another blow that’s rending!

Look, no one’s the wiser,
Look, the guardian is the destroyer.

Look not at the cover,
But at the heart that needs a helper.

Award of Appreciation for my poem, Creating Meaning

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Creating Meaning

The rhetoric, philosophy about the meaning of life
Has been in existence since the beginning of time,
Yet, for each generation, a new theory creates strife
In the souls of those in their prime

Needing an answer to consolidate
An identity they’ve forgotten existed
For following the trends gives a state
Of uncertainty for none are God send,

Rather, they derive pleasure in creating
Confusion and lack on comprehension
That creating your own meaning
To life is a necessary gift of compassion

For only when you’ve created it
Will you fight for it, never giving
Up on its dreams, an opportunity that bit
Out the uncertainty, giving rise to humanity’s creating.

Accolade for my poem,  Journey in The Womb

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Journey in the Womb

As my umbilical cord feeds
My body, my mind listens to sounds,
Healing my anxiety for love, hunger,
Yet, as my hunger is assuaged, proper

My mind swims into a sea
Of possibilities about a future, per se
That I’ve only heard whispers
Of through parents, family, conversers

Around me speaking a language
I can’t decipher, but I dream of a page
Filled with goals, careers, that crave
Attention, hard work, and pave

The road to mama’s adulation,
For her bias is such that any competition
With myself is rewarded by smiles,
Cuddles, Hugs conquering piles

Of doubt that she murders
With simple pride that radiates
Through my success and comforts
In failures that bend self-worth in ports

Of darkness alleviated only
By recalling her strength properly
Reflected in the potions of TLC
She hands out, seeming effortless to see.

I vascillate in wanting to be
Just like her, or a teacher, like
Her, a fashionista, like her,
A passionate supporter, like her,

A believer, like her, but mostly,
I want her to be proud of the crazy
Child she raised who embraces
Life’s turbulent obstacles with prices

Paid in smiles for Karma will
Return my gift into a thousand pill
Against depression for my strength
Comes from her breath.

Certificate of Achievement for my acrostic poem, EQUILIBRIUM

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

EQUILIBRIUM

Equality, equilibrium, equivalent, all
Quiver needing balance under the
Umbrella of justice, missing today,
Instead, we’ve got inequality where
Lean youths are arrested for wearing
Inked flags, demonstrating their humanity
Baring their souls for all to see their being
Riled by a lack of equilibrium, where rights are
Impaled by authorities to empower the
Undisclosed truth that money rules, while
Majesty of honesty, equilibrium, and justice fall.

Certificate of Acknowledging and Achievement for my poem, Wish for Peace

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Wish for Peace

The fragile beauty of the dandelion
In my hand, whose grip on land
Dares you to eradicate its presence in Zion
As it spreads through the wish for peace to lend

A hand to those in need of a blend
Of peace in their days of suffering
Without end.
Wish for peace for them to send

Their children to schools
With filled bellies of fresh food
Sprinkled with life giving water that drools
In honor of a wish for peace that stood

On the doorstep waiting, waiting
Patiently for humanity’s response
To help save those whose beliefs, never straying,
Empowers their wish for peace to save me

And the new generations without
The need to revisit the trauma of today’s
Dire escalations of genocides in a bout
Of cataclysmic fear whose only wish is for peace.

Certificate of Achievement for my poem, Love’s Poetry

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Love’s Poetry

As light is hope and all that’s bright,
Learning to love in the sun illuminates
Your perception on values, character, that fight
To blot out negativity that’s darkened puss

That festers as an abyssimal blight
To optimism whose courage roars in
Flight to piece together poems whose bite
Is only a loving caress, as their images pin

Your beauty from words to face, wrinkled
From endured hardships but glows
With the passionate compassion of being loved.
As you shower me with languid eye’s light, the fight throws

Away the scourge of love’s broken heart
By filling papers with poems that brook
No argument to its plight in trying to strut
The words in verses and lines that cook

Your presence into the essence of love
Unbroken by a pessimistic world that implodes
When amour is at its best fighting in brave
Behest of a soul needing rest in paper adobes.

Accolade for my poem, Addiction

Thank you,  administrators,  for the accolade and your hard work.

Addiction

I’m  an addict
And I know it!

I revere two of the three Cs:
Coffee,  candy,  and cigarettes.

I love my coffee alone with my contemplation
Of life, likes, posts, news, like a great commotion,

Flitting from one to the next trying to see
What’s best before I rest to be free.

Posts galore and replies of mine
Make my day, as the taste of Coffee

Feels like a sinful pleasure.
With my dark drink, I bite into chocolate,

And drift into a coma at heaven’s gate.
I savor the sweetness along the strength

Of body of the coffee and its bitterness.

Life with the morning rituals
Cake, candy, chocolate, coffee and sweets

Is like life without a hero like Ferrero,
Or Cadbury, Mars, KitKat,  and Aero!

Raising the bar in a day filled
With noise, poised to litter the mind

With fear, worry, and being drear!
So my habitual start is set in stone:

Coffee, contemplation, quiet that have
A lead to social media, news, where I refuse

To succumb to its dadarkness
That needs to twist your morning addictions

Into a depressive, foggy darkness.
Let your coffee’s wisdom fill
Your empty cup with hope that will

Reject solidifying into despair,
But reaches in your depths to repair.
