I’m honored, humbled by the accolade for my work as Moderator at Led Pen. I feel that it’s truly a joy not work as I read other’s work, perspectives, metaphors, and verses that impact the way I perceive things. Thank you for the honor.

I look upon the four hundred year old Cedar tree That has survived such chaos, death, decimation Of great forests of pine trees by invaders who ‘free’ It of its natural resources, life, and vegetation. Encased in the trunk of the ancient tree, the world Is small, burning hot under the summer sun, flashing Its heat and brilliance to help everything grow into a postcard That’s photoshopped into being breathtaking In its organized life, only disturbed by humans barking Out order for dissolving the inner and outer beauty of its solitude.
Slipping out of the of the cedar tree, I take my human form And gaze astounded on my reflection: wrinkled skin, Darkened splotches, and great disillusionment Darkens the depth of my eyes as I lay bare upon the bank. The scenes of war and decimation I witnessed Have been imprinted on my soul, waiting for any deed That will alleviate my despair that humanity is a dying breed That needs new blood, ingenuity, and values To help it defeat famine, war, racism, and religious discriminations.

What’s poetry if not an agglomeration Of words in rhyme and rhythm? A world of poetic devices, accommodation Of varied styles, structures that’s not grim?
What’s a love story If not one that it has a start, Climax, and end that’s happy or gory? Where pink tinted Glasses reflect
The author and audiences Need to escape life’s duties, stresses That place tremendous pressures On couples needing one anothers happiness’s
Without needing to compromise Or putting in the hard work required. ‘What’s love?’, in that case? That’s the staying power of being loved,
Loved for yourself, Loved for your strengths, weaknesses, Loved for your imperfections put on a shelf, As your greatest power shines in smiles
That never dim while facing despair, Despair That the bridge you’ve created Can fall if your efforts only stare Rather than repair the damage to be blessed.
Blessed by sharing love With those of your inner circle Who’ve proven loyal in grave Circumstances while never living in a pickle.
The enchantment of poetic words Lies in the esthetic that builds bridges Between enemies, frenemies, lords Of your hearts, whose presence is in poetic cages.

Courage is defined by the press vest that Outlived its owners, journalists speaking Under extenuating circumstances of flying bombs Retreating into cover, returning, knowing the danger Amputating their fears with each Blast of their reports Governing the truth that has been in a abyss Encouraged to see the light with their COURAGE.

Setting up the selfie station: Lights, cell stand, and her brand, Typically, she holds clothing to unfold Before it’s framed eternally on her blog.
She twists it this way and that, Showing all its sides, but None of hers, Except, the image she shows.
Behind the smile and frivolity, Lies a darkness, hidden from sight, For fear of being judged carelessly By followers that hold great might.
Anxiety is hers to cradle, While happiness is to be shared, And beauty is revered As long as it’s easily bendable.
What is she trying to prove, With her blog that’s on the move? Is her ambition centered around Follows and likes, without being bound?
I wonder what holds her prisoner, In a world where artifice is power, While, ethics and values take a shower, And faith is flushed out with dirty water.

Echoes of nature, a symphony unparalleled Carves out places from sun’s heatwaves, Omniscient in the laws, systems of nature Sending energy in droves to heal, lower temperatures, Yielding better clime for humanity’s rhyme. Simply wondrous in the secret healing it protects, Tempering its power To permit life to grow, Energizing the ecosystem with floods, fires, Merely to help the earth shine brighter than a dime.
