Wish for Peace

A simple ‘Wish for Peace’, where children play, innocently not wake in fear as they hear a plane pass them by; where families have a right to live together,  where death comes only by accident or age, where the need for justice is stronger than making money, and where prosperity is achievable.  I hope this International Day for Peace brings up REAL PEACE.

Wish for Peace

The fragile beauty of the dandelion
In my hand whose grip on land
Dares you to eradicate its presence in Zion
As it spreads through the wish for peace to lend

A hand to those in need of a blend
Of peace in their days of suffering
Without end.
Wish for peace for them to send

Their children to schools
With filled bellies of fresh food
Sprinkled with life giving water that drools
In honor of a wish for peace that stood

On the doorstep waiting, waiting
Patiently for humanity’s response
To help save those whose beliefs, never straying,
Empowers their wish for peace

For a new generation without
The need to revisit the trauma of today’s
Dire escalations of genocides in a bout
Of cataclysmic fear whose only wish is for peace.

Got a certificate for poet of the month

What notable things happened today?

While receiving this certificate empowers me and motivates me to write more, it doesn’t define me. My writing was used as therapy for my recovery from surgery and expanded from there. I hope that it resonates with my audience and helps them feel less alone in a world that has the need to isolate people by creating labels for them to seperate them from one another.  Through this, they leave little room for compassion and humanity to connect, but divides.

Another thing that made me proud is the fact that I’m getting 1 poem published in an anthology,  and another piece of writing as well. Both are a part of The Unsealed online magazine.

International Writer’s Day

International Writer’s Day
Acrostic

Internet has facilitated global connections
Never stop the growth of writers
That rend their hearts as their words flow
Empowering the weak to
Remember their worth
Never succumbing to oppression’s
Timely propagation that cleaves
Intimate family members into
Open enemity, clearly ‘Dividing & Conquering’
Needlessly aggressive, destructive,
Avid in mercilessly taking resources and
Leaving nothing to the Indigenous peoples.

Write, revel, rebel, roast, rumble the gruesome
Reality of a world built on Materialism
Instead of unity of humanity
That lends compassion and succor that
Eventually works together against the oppressor
Ruining the ecology, separating family,
Solidifying Darwin’s rules of supremacy

Dealing in strength that overpowers others
Amid illegal, inhumane practices that have
Yet to be punished.

Peaceful Palestine?

The terror drives their heart beats into a drum

A drummer erasing your life and turning it into a bum.

Sirens, louder than your heart’s drum,

Blare out the need to evaluate the slum.

Run, run, run faster, faster still, jump

Into the bomb shelter for fear of being a lump

On the street, another cadaver hacked in a frump.

Blood stains the streets, cars, homes, and fields

That sustain the rebellion that fights oppressives.

In a vain attempt to eradicate the beliefs

I look around, children, women, elderly, youth,

All strewn like rag dolls, puppets on strings! Truth,

They are victims of unending war for territory of faith.

What a scam, lark, lie, brainwashing schemes,

Imposing your will on others!

Keep them weak, hungry, and hopeless,

As you stomp on their rights! Bleed them,

It’s the last foray into unknow, dread for them

Terrors testify that the drum itself is to be feared. For them

Is a way of life!

Well then, do something to end the strife!

That’s no way to live a life!
