Triple Diamond Certificate for my poem,  Lone Figure

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Lone Figure

He lives on the bench
He sleeps with head bowed
Twisted into resting, posed
Like the McDonald’s statue looking like a branch

Off the bench he’s resting on,
He wears his home in pockets filled
With knickknacks of a life felled
By taking a wrong turn in life’s ton

Of deviating trajectories leading
To his arm cushioning his head
On the top slat that keeps him upright, bend
Head and palm in his pocket keeping

It warm and protecting what little
He has. His body bent, his feet
Encased in boots, warm in winter, heat
Sweaty in summer, but protects, coddle

His feet from nature’s swaying
Changes covered, temporarily
As he drifts into faulty memory
Logged in regret, a cloack thicker than the reigning

Stutter of his heart, as it beats
A lonely drum, a cacophony Of sound
Discordant with the beauty around
Budding greens and life streaming in cleats.

Accolade for my poem,  Royal Bengal Tiger

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Royal Bengal Tiger

The Royal Bengal tiger lazes
On the tree branch, his spotted coat frizzes
In the heat, while his tail dangles
In time with the grandfather clock, never tangles

As it moves in the air, swatting
Flies, while his eyes revere the butterflies flying,
Their blue wings flapping, unafraid
Of the predator whose paw is laid

Circling over the branch, lazily
Waiting for real prey to materialize fully
Before he engages in a chase
To be what his nature dictates, carnivor, not haste,

Patience is his forte for he waits
Patiently, no excessive movements
To give himself away, until, patience
Is rewarded and prey has no prayer in face

Of such a creature,  elegant,  powerful,
Yet he only hunts to survive, not fun, but full
Of honor, as he doesn’t exterminate friend
Or family for the hunger for power’s a fiend.

Accolade for my poem,  Lone Leaf Wonderment

Lone Leaf Wonderment

As a lone yellowed leaf, I remain,
Hanging precariously onto the branch,
Looking onto the ground, where my vain
Friends have all fallen while greenish, now, out of reach,

They lay on the fallow earth
Blanketing it with their dried crunch,
As passerby ignore their presence ignoring the cloth
That beautified nature, as they stomp them in a bunch.

Lonely, alone, my tears fall unnoticed
As I try to mourn all I’ve lost:
Friends whose radiance has died,
Family whose love has extinguished and thrust

Me, alone, in an unforgiving world,
Where what once was is easily forgotten,
While all those empty voices rise in a cold
Empty entourage who’s lost compassion and been

Swamped with the material world,
Living in solitary confinement,
On a schedule that bind
More then prison bars in an accoutrement

To integration in a society, powerless
To make a change in their community
As technology and self-isolation progress
Towards being captivated by superficiality

Of surviving rather than living
In faith, hope, their power and force,
Naturally protect believers in believing
In the existence of hope and communal peace.
