Certificate of Appreciation,  I Am

I’m continually overwhelmed with joy when I receive such an accolade. It reminds me that my words have worth, and I need to redouble my efforts to be a better writer and poet. I’m grateful for Gelda’s unwavering dedication to her work and the creative prompsts she comes up with.

Laureate Award

I’m flabbergasted by the honor bestowed on me by ZeZabek for choosing my poetry to be on par with a laureate writer.  I hope that I can rise to the occasion by writing with greater honesty,  passion, and love for the craft. Using my poetry as my voice to the world that needs to be reminded that its humanity is valued by me, God, family, as well as by themselves.  Never let your compassion and empathy become lax.

Double Diamon Certificate: Faery Wonderland

Faery  Wonderland

In a faery wonderland, she’ll stand,
Hands held together in veneration for land
Whose fantastical beauty astounds,
Its colors: rainbowed pastels in grands

Accumulated in clicks of reds, blue,
Pinks, greens, whose hues flew
Across the bay, scattered haphazardly
In a motley crew of geometrically

Arranged order that’s breathtaking
In their form, as they stand as sentries breaking
….


A story of struggle that united
The varied creatures to be one,
As they strive to keep their beauty in a shrine.

Eid Mubarak

EID MUBARAK

Every Eid is like no other,

Instead of losing, think of gain, gain God’s

Deep graces that are limitless in their faces.

Mubarak, blessed we are for our breath,

Unseal our eyes and ears to hear teachings

Benefitting our earthly and heavenly lives,

Anger is an enemy,  blessed by the devil

Rearing its head to sway us away from

Amplifying our faith and practicing it

Knowing it’s our salvation to enter Jannah.

Got a certificate for poet of the month

What notable things happened today?

While receiving this certificate empowers me and motivates me to write more, it doesn’t define me. My writing was used as therapy for my recovery from surgery and expanded from there. I hope that it resonates with my audience and helps them feel less alone in a world that has the need to isolate people by creating labels for them to seperate them from one another.  Through this, they leave little room for compassion and humanity to connect, but divides.

Another thing that made me proud is the fact that I’m getting 1 poem published in an anthology,  and another piece of writing as well. Both are a part of The Unsealed online magazine.

Clipity- Clop

Itty bitty feet run around
In a clamor of clip-clops
That resonate in echoes that abound
In a round of clapping shrieking pops

That reverberate with laughter
That lightens the heart of burdens
And a heaviness that cower
When faced with the merry melody of laughter.

Let your Itty bitty feet lead,
Lead you into mischief and solve
Your way out of problems that feed
Your will to be cheery when faced by laws above

Of society that set limitations, in Isolation,
For some, while others run amuck.
Let your glee flee the deadened quiet of conventions
By proving your worth with mirth that gets you unstuck.

Acrostic

Invade your soul with integrity,
Never letting go of honesty,
That’s powered by discipline,
Eternally
Growing your stance, heavenly
Righteously to eliminate
Inferiority, inequality, but supports
The integration of all humanity’s races, Genders, not
Yellowbellies who deceive,
Stab friends in their backs, as they climb

Higher in their careers,  never being
Openly covetous of others, but rather leave a
Niggling discomfiture in their vicinity that’s
Eternal in its prickly presence.
Stand for your ethics
That make you uniquely
You, as it empowers your vitality.

Award of Appreciation: poem, Conformity

Conformity

Education is highly priced so that
Few can achieve its height.

The higher the knowledge you try
To receive the more indoctrinated, bound not to fly

While wisdom’s harmony demands your
Calm acceptance of self and all around who pour

Their spirituality into a fervor for variety
Of life’s changing setting, requiring piety,

Humanity, compassion, empathy, and embrace
The continually altered reality with its grace

In knowing that equilibrium is a must
As the world is based on its crust

That’s unshakable in its strength, as long
As respect is exchanged so we all belong.
