Accolade for my poem, Halloween’s Halo

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Halloween’s Halo

The halo on Halloween’s head
Heads a direct divide into dense
Fields with scarecrows on the fence
Actively aspiring to anchor a bird

So it doesn’t touch the harvest
Longing to be free to shadow dance,
Sing to the moonlit sky in a prance
That would make Dasher envy his behest

For his life is a feast of danger
Watching as prey, monsters, try
To decimate crops not theirs, and fly
Away from the field, a test, reckoning, closer

As the night darkens to a raven’s
Blackness where fear leaches
Into pores, unseen by ghosts, grinches,
Ghouls pouring out of sepulchers cravens

For their fear reeks like cyanide,
Death speeding through rows
Of crows, corn, wheat, pumpkin bows
That cinch nightly ghouls on a ride

To feast on fear’s far-reaching farm.

4th Place for my poem, Thunder Clap

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Rhyme, Metaphor,  Epistroph

Thunder CLAP

Thunder clap, clap, clap,
Rip and roar, rev my heart, heart,
Into a thunderous beat, beat,
That trembles along my feet, feet.

Thunder clap, clap, clap,
Lightning flashes followed, followed,
By a horrifying growl, loud, loud,
Louder, shaking my rest as I become lead, lead.

Thunder clap, clap, clap,
You sound like an explosion, explosion,
Rocking the ground in your exposition, exposition,
Of a world alight with trauma’s revision, revision.

Thunder clap, clap, clap,
As the ground quakes in your wake, wake,
I gather my courage trying not to break, break,
My move for fear of what lies awake, awake.

Thunder clap,  clap, clap,
Light my way so you can sway, sway,
My worries into slumber, away, away,
From any darkened abyss that can flay, flay.

Certificate of Excellence, 1rst place, for my poem, Starlight

Thank you for the honor and your hard work. A review of the poem by Erica

The poem “Starlight” by Malak Kalmoni Chehab fits perfectly with the theme “Cosmic Musings”! The poem beautifully explores the symbolism of starlight, using it as a metaphor for hope, optimism, and confidence.

There are 12 lines in the poem. Well done, Malak Kalmoni Chehab!

Some potential strengths of the poem include:

1. *Imagery*: The use of vivid descriptions like “bright living stars,” “shimmering wonder,” and “shooting star” effectively evokes the celestial theme.
2. *Emotional resonance*: The poem explores the emotional impact of starlight, conveying a sense of hope and optimism.

The poem’s message about finding confidence and strength in the symbolism of starlight is inspiring.

Congratulations 👏

Starlight

The darkened night sky is populated
By bright living stars that brightened
All our nightmares, giving us the radiance
That bundles us in a cocoon of confidence.

Such shimmering wonder shines into your soul,
Adding hope, optimism,  an irrefutable scowl
That repudiates all pessimism, darkness,
And the need to succumb to its insidious whispers.

The murmur of such powers is devastating
If not fenced and bound.  Placing
It in a securely locked chest, that is impossible,
To open when your will inters it with all that’s enjoyable.

Revere the wondrous effect of shooting star
That lightens your burdens and shines a spotlight
Upon all that’s good, wondrous,  loving, bright,
And endlessly supporting your strengths from within.

Check it out: in picture form, defining a Writer’s Ideas

Follow the link to get an idea where writers store their ideas, those they DIDN’T write down!

That’s the reason why I have Notes on my phone. Even when walking, I stop to jot down a word or idea for a poem, then, I complete the writing when I have a few minutes! There are even times when the idea transforms completely when I start writing.

Evil

Prepare,  preparing,  design,  designing,
Candies galore, pumpkins, scarecrows, witching:
The cauldron of doom, blood curdling, dooming;
House into haunting screams that are petrifying;
Possession of weaklings, turning them to demons: spine-chilling.

All Halow’s night, creeps, ghouls, and evil beings
Walk unobstructed for all to see and inspires
Villainy, vile, voracious jealousies
That promise money, rank, and powers
As long as you let evil reign over intellects.

At the witching hour, light streaks into the sky
Illuminating it with comet like arrows that vy
For attention as they fly by!
They bring knowledge,  light, perservereance, positivity,
And strength of will to annihilate all of evil’s cry.

Never fear the demons of Halloween,
For their imagination runs amuck, unseen.
But, reality is harsher, fiercer, more mysterious.
