Certificate of Excellence for my poem, Foundation of Love

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Foundation of Love

What comes out of love?
From love, all creation is born, as you rove
On this earth in search for more, from cove

To plain, to desert, to mountain top
You run in search for its root, and hop
To its tune, rhythm, rhyme to feed the soul that sop

Of identity, compassion, humanity,
That intermingle, intertwine, two souls of purity
Bound together to infinity.

Not as possession, not a claim, rather
Emotions that run the gamut from fear,
Pain, disillusionment, cheer, joy, all clear

As they mend the broken parts of each
Font of pleasure that surmount the bunch
Of negativity that oppresses like a crunch

Yet, love, its golden halo of purity
Engulfs the two in a hug transcending timely
Obstacles, turning them into change powerfully

Entwining lives into a single soul
Whose only goal
Is addressing the plunder of love’s bowl.

Reading and reading

How do you waste the most time every day?

My first love is reading. I’m a junkie for all types of romances, poetry, news, and the Quoraan. The first 2 are there to improve my writing style and incorporating new forms into my poetry. The news, however, I use in order to add eco-socio-political issues in my poetry.

Now, your question would be, how are the readings then a waste of time? My answer is that they all give me an escape, a world that I interact with that’s entirely mine. Perhaps it’s selfish, but I believe each one serves a purpose for me.

As for the Quraan, that too is an escape into faith, where belief, ideals, and values are unchanging, clear, and just. At least, that’s my perspective.

Just Money

Just, lust, must,

Guts, gusts, and grubs

Champs, chumps, and lumps.

All in all, they all face the power of the just.

Who comes first, who loses is inapropos

As long as they know that injustices can’t go unpunished!

Crime, criminal, abuser, traitor, saviors

All have time to face the music, all pained.

Those who break it, must inevitably, dance to the tune,

The music of victory over poverty and those weakly,

Gingerly try to step away from heads that roll,

Playing the part of the weakling who’s accused wrongly.

Oh what would it be like to find a world where justice

Is not only a must, but applies to all stratas of societies

Whether poor, middle class, rich, or multicultural,

All revere the law and all that’s lawful.

Oh how convenient it is to fall into the cracks

Of those who judge others by their looks

Rather than their actions, that require faith in a broken

System that reveres the material more than ethics.
