5th Place for my poem,  Cradled Baby

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Cradled Baby

Look at that child smiling in his crib,
Unbeknownst to him his importance,  never glib,
He speaks when his mother couldn’t
Defend herself, protecting her reputation that shouldn’t

Have been in question, GOD giveth
When he pleases, and His pleasure’ breath
Give birth to a miracle child, carrying
The sins of humanity without complaining,

His resolve, strength of belief still
Affect people today,  although division may kill
Each other, while he preached peace,
Generosity, forgiveness, compassion that never cease

To assuage the burdens, stress
Of those who follow his teachings, flawless
In their discipline in everlasting values
That keep communities united in varied hues.

Wake us up to your harmony, a symphony
Filled with blessed peace not a cacophony
Of brittle minds, unbending as they face
Change with a blackened heart turned to grace.

Certificate of Achievement for my poem, Forgiving Love

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Forgiving Love

In computer language, when writing
Code the use of ‘if and only if’ is a representation
Of the double conditional of loving
And forgiving, for as you love, your adoration

Will inevitably permit you to forgive
For you give excuses for the mistake
Without even thinking twice,  for you have
Compassion, empathy for understanding that life is a cake

Sometimes, it’s sweet, fluffy,  delicious,
And others, flat, dry, inedible, unlivable.
So to forgive is to love, and to love’s a precious
Gift, you must forgive mistakes whose hurt is palpable.

Rest assured that when you apply
This motto, people will return it spontaneously
For life, Karma, is about give and take, happily
Sharing forgiveness and love is endlessly rewarding to both parties.

Certificate of Appreciation for my poem,  Birth of Jesus

Thank you, administrators, for the accolade and your hard work.

Birth of Jesus

Mary had her contractions,
Under the palm tree’s shade
Where she wished for death’s havens
To take away her struggles.
She hears a voice, deep, as though
Coming from beneath
Telling her not to worry, her breath
Will give birth
To a prophet, Issa, Jesus,
Whose conception, miraculous,
Was thought adulterous,
But, he, Issa, spoke
A suckling babe,
Another miracle,
Telling believers to believe
In GOD and His word,
Bible, Quoran, Tora, to change the world
Into one that’s compassionate,
Forgiving, loving, giving, never late
In listening, understanding that fate
Is for the living to ensure
That it’s done through His
Teachings, forsaking sins
That blacken the soul, hearts
That need light to shine bright.

Certificate of Achievement,  FORGIVENESS, acrostic

FORGIVENESS

Forge your will in steal,
Outmaneuver your enemies, who feel,
Replete in knowing they’re the heel.
Give them your support when they fall,
Inspire them to be better than before.
View their progress and motivate before you bore,
Inverting foe to friend, like before.
Never lose hope for betterment
Even when all is stacked against you,
Simmer the anger, put logic to the forefront
Survive, learn, educate, that hope is never gone.

2 certificates in 2 days

The first is an acrostic poem titled: FORGIVENESS, while the second is titled: Glory’s Bower.

Glory’s Bower

Morning glory climbing vine,
Purple, violet, red, pink, or white,
Colors of a rainbow of hope
That delivers expansion and will grope
Your archway by making it fine!

As I run through its delicacy,
I note the difference in clemency
From one side to the other, as I bravely
Cross the framed beauties, cleverly
Hoping that the other side will have more mercy.

No more than an inch separates the bower
From the white picket gate, where a shower
Of light bathes the garden bed with a cover
Of verdant hues, that shame any painter.
As I cross into this splendor,

I note colors are sharper,
Each plant has its own area, a platter
Filled with diverse shapes, sizes, and sister,
It takes away your breath in a blinker
As you tinker with nature’s fauna that never cower

To either man or nature’s
Storms that are in never ending cycles
Of births and deaths, that keep hopes
Alive in every heart, as it shows justice’s
Plight, as it ends certain lifes.

Stay in your bower of morning
Glories and enjoy the perpetual crooning
Of an ecosystem in harmony, dancing!
