Broken
She sits on the cold unforgiving ground,
Ground that has absorbed her bountiful tears,
Tears of a broken heart,
Heart that has seen too much loss,
Loss of family, spouse, innocence,
Innocence of the unaware of the world,
World gone mad from the needs,
Needs that are illogical, depraved,
Depraved in their unethical destructive,
Destructive nature of familial bonds,
Bonds that help communities grow,
Grow in compassion and humanity,
Humanity, that’s our commonality,
Commonality of blood and origin,
Origin in Adam, the first prophet, man,
Man who made a mistake and fixed,
Fixed it for his progeny to prosper,
Prosper In an empty, arid land,
Land where possibilities are endlessly,
Endlessly varied for doing
Doing good or evil.
Evil that makes her ruminate,
Ruminate on her actions that’ve gotten,
Gotten her into her lonesome state,
State of depression, if she’s not careful,
Careful to an optimist working to achieve
Achieve her dreams without failed faith,
Faith that has driven depression into
Into its watery death in the river of her tears.

Connecting the dots is a technique where the last letter in each verse is used as the starting letter for the next verse. The above is my Rendition of it.

WORLD POETRY DAY
Double acrostic
Wondrous words Whirl around and
Over a reality created by wOrlds in images, that are
Readily available foR consumption,
Leading to leveling the fieLd of wonder
Down into a frozen Dream filled with rhyming
Poetic world made up of a Plethora
Of offerings of a utopian bOunty imagined by an
Eternal imagination nevEr grinding
To a stop, as its renewed Tunneling to greater
Rewards as newer worlds aRe revealed
Yearning for the crY of revelations.
Drive your curiosity to conDemn the oppressing
Arm of murderers of imaginAtion who travel
Yards over supremacy overtlY conscious of the squelched word.

Wander at Night
Exert
A night
When the moon is shining bright
Lights up the darkened road as he
Walks alone, with his cane
Illuminating his path at night
As the forests and mountains fight
To cover the dirt road combating
For supremacy, as he walks by thinking…

Cigarette 🚬
Holding it with my fingertips,
Caressing the paper filters,
Lighting a match, inhale, exhale airs,
Air that’s stuffy, foggy, stinky.
It casts an oppressive smell,
That you try to outrun like a bell
Ringing in lunchtime,
The smell becomes a halting
Breath that stalls in your lung
Fighting for oxygen’s purity
To flush out the dreadful
Odor that sticks to hair that fell,
And clothes that have a stench
Of smoke, driving you to asphyxiation
As you endeavor to hide from the pulverization
Of aromas that bleed deposits
Into bronchials that hinder
A normal breather.
