Award of Appreciation for my poem,  Life’s Turbulence

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Life’s Turbulence

As social media floods us with videos,
Pictures of people suffering in wars,
Famine, floods, quakes, mining stars,
I wonder if experiencing suffering throws

The meaning of life such great woes
That it obliges the sufferer to appreciate
Its transcience, sheer momentary joy that fate
Puts in their midst for gratitude to crows

Its sincerity when it rises from suffering,
Teaching the simplicity of life’s
Ethics, that need to be adhered to in strife’s
And Peace’s furors in their struggling.

Diploma Certificate for my poem: Frozen Footprints

Thank you, administrators, for the accolade and your hard work.

Frozen Footprints

I swing around
My gazes abound
And stall. Frozen on the ground
By the footsteps that are never found.

Each step was an adventure, gone
And never seen, but remembered as one
Whose stature is alone
In memory and stone.

Adoration of all that’s long gone is futile,
For your recall is colored by a grapevine
Of emotions that are supple
And unmanageable.

Let it go!
Move on, throw
Caution to the wind, and blow
Away boundaries that limit your flow!

Sunrise or Sunset

What’s your favorite time of day?

Sunrise and sunset, the colors, the hope, the beauty of each transcends their transience. The quiet of each is a time of reflection that I take in order to assess what I’ve accomplished each day. I question my decisions, were they right? Did I hurt anyone? What can I do to make amends? But, most importantly, I take the time to voice my gratitude for the things I have and those I don’t.

Let the beauty of those times enrobe you in their mystery and hope propelling you into the unknown with a positive outlook.

Author of Perfectly Flawed, poetry for change.
