Published my poem, Babe’s Phoenix,  in ILA Magazine

I’m deeply honored that my poem, Babe’s Phoenix, was chosen to published at ILA Magazine. Link:

https://www.ilamagazine.net/post/babe-s-phoenix

Babe’s Phoenix

Mother whose despair is like
Acrid smoke of burnt flesh
Surrounds her nightly course of fresh
Baked corpses whose breaths are a pike

Of fear that death is near,
But she carries hope on her hip
Cradled against her breast, a trip
She makes daily carrying life, as sear

Of a future, a Phoenix from the ash
Rises in the form of the innocent
Babe she holds, close to heart, bent
On giving it her life’s blood, brash

In the knowledge that her milk
Will sustain it while it syphons
Her health as nutrients, tons
Are unavailable, and sacrifice is silk

For her baby to grow on,
A Phoenix born from fire, passion,
Compassion, empathy, a fashion
That enrobes the babe, soar and don

Its firey feathers on display,
A life lived with dignity, glory,
Unparallelled beauty that’s never gory
Rather, it’s fascinating, never grey

Full of life where freedom
Expires in the ashes of
The Phoenix’s Rise, newly born, stuff
Of myth and legends alike ends’ never come.

My poem, Byzantium Gardens is published in Stencils Magazine

I’m honored to have been a participant and a published poem with this magazine.  Enjoy your reading.

Byzantium’s Garden

As I look upon the changing season,
The variety of colors from umber’s rich
Brown, fertile soil, going into hiatus for reason
Of the cold, cooling the ground, coloring a stitch
Of amber, yellow, gold, yellowish green,
All turning into nutrients for a fallow lean

Land in need of Amaranth to renew
Its vigor to produce a wonderland
After hibernation in winter, a review
Of the upcoming Byzantium garland
Of a garden, waiting, waiting patiently
For the right circumstance to grow wildly

In a rush to present faery
Flowers, a rainbow of colored plants,
Heliotrope, lilies, roses, carnations, covertly
Awaiting the cooling spring springing, like cats,

Into view grabbing your attention
By tuning the scene into an idyllic
Creation, where reverence to beautification

Is necessary for the purification
Of a heart filled with desperation

To be awakened into the translucence
Of a world enveloped in nacre opulence.

An opulence filled with Faith’s gratification.

Ocean’s Lament, my poem Published in ILA magazine

Thank you,  administrators, for the honor and your hard work.

Ocean’s Cry

Oh you blue body of life,
Your azure, royal blue, turquoise, teal,
Color my life in blues, uplifting strife
From the midst of man’s fall. Real,

Real in his prolific dumping of garbage
In its depths, insouciant of consequences
On marine life, that’s slowly disappearing into a cage
Of fishing nets, plastic bags, oil spills, defaces

Defaces reefs, shores, schools of fish,
Extinguishing crustacean habitats,
Underwater algae beds where fish,
Multicolored of varying shapes and sizes,

Sizes that help propel the flourishing
Ecosystems beneath man’s watchful
Eye who’s still looking for expanding,
Conquering territories for boastful,

Boastful insecurities that need
To be bolstered by their flashy vanity,
Showing off their possessions, a creed
Of avarice, capitalism, and duplicity.

Duplicity in dealing justly, meticulously
Working in protecting assets’ vanishing
Existence, as man only knows how to fully
Siphon resources without a care of destroying,

Destroying access to them in a furor
Of greed that’s only surpassed by
Pride’s cataclysmic need to conquer
The unknown by debasing it as simple opposition that’s binary.

Published poem, Pirouette, in Facebook Flipbook OOTP magazine

I am supremely honored to have my poem published with OOTP Magazine.

Pirouette

I watch as she pirouettes,
Her dress, a parachute, flies
In waves to her flutters.

Her sensual beauty attracts
An audience, not for her moves,
But for the supplication in her eyes.

They shine with an inner peace
That translates into an oeuvred pace
Shinier than the purest diamond face.

My gaze is glued to her oneiric flexible
Limbs that have divined  that the rain bubble
Ensconces her in a world where trouble

Is an abstract concept she’s never
Experienced, as her innocent cover
Protects her as she adds prayer to the dancer.

As her body flows, swings, undulates,
She hears titters on her esthetics.
She says: ‘Believe in a faith that provides
Truth and dares to challenge lies.’

They then turn away and bicker,
Having forgotten why she was a riveting picture.

Staring at the blank page, I wonder which words will Walk in the journal of the age Of fake people, news, expectations that kill The soul of creativity replaced, Replaced by AI, that seems to insist It will take over ingenuity, graced By humanity’s wondrous spirit whose gist Is made of light, dark, and grey. IlA Magazine published my poem, Sunrise

Thank you, administrators, for the honor and your hard work.

Sunrise

Every day,  without fail, the sun rises
It shines its intangible Rays, like fingers
Caressing your skin, body and limbs.
Everyone of them ends in special memories,
As each day brings in new events.
Some times, those are sad and lonely,
Others are depressing and gravely
Affect your humor and oddities.
They can take you into a dark abyss
Of despair,  and return with cheers.
Inspire you to believe in one more sunrise,
That lifts you above the murky fogs,
Into clouds, of such pristine whites,
That their glare overpowers,
While your fogged windows, from your breaths
Show your anticipation forwards
To one more unbelievable sunrise,
That becomes your muse for life’s
Unending wonder, transience, and colors.
Rainbows of which come out after the rains,
Reminding those bogged down to rise
Rise to the challenge of beauty and lived lives.

Two of my poems: Upheaval, Never Give Up,  are published in this wonderful anthology.

Upheaval

Coup d’état! Civil Unrest!
Rebellion against a colonizer, a pest,

Businesses men, family men
Gathering together are arrested, put in a pen,

No pillow, blanket, toilet, only a feast …

… , ethics strive
To cause trouble in the hive

That western society creates
For immigrants needing a place to forgets,

As trauma continues its hold, bold
In its fight to take root, but I won’t, under it, fold.

Never Give Up

Give up, never!
The challenges of life give greater
Satisfaction when struggling to overcome them.

Give up, never!
Through war planes, attacker
On our land, as my partner is an army officer. …

And belief that you’re being tested makes me stronger.

Give up, never!
Give up, never!
Give up, never!

My poem: Google’s Child: AI,is published at Ray Whitaker blog

Thank you, Ray, for including my poem in your blog.

Google’s Child: AI

Mr. & Mrs. Google:”What have you done?”
We’ve had a child: AI.
What does it do?
It copies people’s work without stricture.
What do you mean?
I mean, ask for a Monet,
And it’ll create a copy of his style
And posit it as a new and improved Monet.

….

Analysis, conclusion,  and a proven hypothesis!
How easy is that?
Uhhhhhhhhhh
Fake
Fake
Fake
No originality
No reality
No imagination
No compassion
No humanity
No hope
