Featured on ILA Magazine visual art/ poetry feature, poem: Zippered Blood Red Lips

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Zippered Blood Red Lips

Free Speech, what a peach,
Red on one side, filled with blood,
Orange is getting ready to spill it on the beach,
Yellow glows to an attractive bond

Luring you in to speak and spill
Your life’s golden opinions
Only to be torn apart and grill
Your blue blood on a spit of confirmations

That your ideologies conform
Without opposition to ICE¹,
Or politically connected storm
Of people who can turn, in a thrice,

The ability to protest against
An imposed narrative that demands
People’s acceptance of it being a test
Of vindicating themselves for atrocities

Done in the name of ‘Being
GOD’S chosen people’ while
Everyone else’s opinion, crossing
Theirs is automatically treated vile

As a treacherous snake attacking
From any hidden point to use
Suprise as a ruse to killing
More and more babes, women, whose

Children, brothers, sisters, sires,
Have been decimated in honor
Of keeping Free Speech as peaches
That have red lips zipped in golden color.

‘A cage, no matter how beautiful,
Is still a cage’, and red lipped lips
Shiny in blood red rouge is blissful
In the knowledge that Free Speech becomes corpses.

Honored to be a part of this group, Deemflum Falls

Thank you, administrators,  for the honor and your hard work 👏 🙏

Deemflum Falls

In the icy winter frost, the visit
To Niagara Falls is a balm on a troubled
Soul whose daily anxieties transform into mist
That continually rise above the falls, unmoved
By the chaotic madness of a world
Filled with death, murder, violence,
And destruction that require you to hold
Onto your sanity by turning to the deemflum face

Of letting your worries evaporate,
Like the misty fog, into skies so blue,
They pierce into a heart rarely in sync with fate
As the cacophony of splashing sheets of true

Blue raise your spirit into a haven
Of quietude balanced by the icy
Crunch of frozen shelves shedding cotton
Balls through the air like rainy

Pellets that strike a balance
Between the reality and what’s imaginary.

Icy March!

As I watch from behind the window

Pane, the snow piled high on the sill

Obscuring nature’s rage as its spill

Of rain and snow creating a gifted bow.

Winds howling,

Snow swerves swiftly,

Banging lustfully

Straining, swinging snowy

Hands hurtling against cement,

Glass, trees, and bushes, swiping

At everything to get in, bent

On gathering warmth to keep their breath.

The heat it garners strengthens

It’s momentum and spits

More icy pellets, flakes of wet snows,

And frozen rain drops.

Icicles drip over bare bushes,

Maples, oaks, evergreens,

All dipped in icy transparent sepulcher

Foretelling breaks and deaths.

Nature’s peaceful gown,

It’s stunning frozen blaze

Will, with time melt and glow

In the blooming spring in a faze.

March …. Alive

March is the cruelest month,

It teeters between ice and fall in cloth.

A wintry storm blows snow all day long,

The next, the sun peaks its head warm with a song.

The chirps, tweets, and warbles of the floks

Stuns with its humming personality that blocks

The rising warmth from becoming too hot.

The northern cardinal brightens our shores

All year long, while Blue Jay may scores

His flight onto our lands for a while and snores.

Enjoy the beauty of the cruelest month,

It’s variety, vascillatory nature, and the birth

Of life that it entails is vital to be conserved.
