Double Diamond Certificate for my poem,  Sparrow’s Visit

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

The Sparrow’s Visits

The sparrow always came
Hopped a few steps, never lame
As he carefully sniffs if danger
Is present before moving closer

To the old man who feeds him, his family
Daily. Slowly as not to scare the gnarly
Fingers away, he wades slowly
To his friend and nuzzles his hand, barely

Touching, yet it’s enough to connect
Sharing a moment of perfect
Understanding that the sparow
Visits more than the man’s family as life’s flow

Tangles them in chores leaving
Him out of the loop while his preaching
Is shared by the sparrow while nature
Awakens, hibernates, changes in pure

Reflection of the old man’s life
Whose autumn years are numbered, rife
With pain, inconsolable fore the wife
Is long gone, kids busy, but the show lives in life.

Diamond Certificate for my poem, Frozen Footprints

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Frozen Footprints

I swing around
My gazes abound
And stall. Frozen on the ground
By the footsteps that are never found.

Each step was an adventure, gone
And never seen, but remembered as one
Whose stature is alone
In memory and stone.

Adoration of all that’s long gone is futile,
For your recall is colored by a grapevine
Of emotions that is supple
And unmanageable.

Let it go!
Move on, throw, throw
Caution to the wind, and blow
Away boundaries that limit your flow!
