Accolade for my poem,  Illusion

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Illusion

She looks out of her window
Dressed in a red ball gown with a tress,
A bow on her neck, bent over low
To contemplate the beauty of the view, less

She sees of depravity the better
As she focuses on ingenuity
Of man’s creation, Eifel Tower,
Where kings and queens have gracefully

Traversed, leaving an imprint
Of inspiration to walk in their
Footsteps unknowing of the pitfalls built
For sovereigns whose bitter

Pill it is to rule as others serve
Their graciousness!
What a cruel world she’ll leave
Behind, for people choose foulness

Rather than imagination,
Discipline, fortitude, wonder
Where all is achievable in succession
When the mind is expected to prosper.

Certificate, Hallmark of Brilliance for my poem, Woman in Red

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Woman in Red

She gazes through the window pane
Daydreaming of times jeweled, in her mind
She wonders how she’s changed to find
Someone she can’t recognize in a lane

Of others who’ve become plastic
Replicas of a trend that reveres
The artificial instead of the natural seers
Who stand alone, against the flow, barbaric

In being bullied, effective in their honor
To prevail against the adamant need
To be perceived for who they are, indeed
They triumph in the end, like you and me, never poor

As we stand for values and ethics,
Beliefs that teach discipline, empower
Your self-confidence to soar
Into success without despair rooted in heretics.

Diploma Certificate for my poem: Masked Wonder

Thank you,  administrators,  for the accolade and your hard work.

Masked Wonder

Dressed in her ivory maskerade ballgown,
Her golden mask, sitting holding a frown,
Wondering carelessly why their return
Was before the clock struck one.

She stands by the shore a glow bathed
Her translucent skin brightly locked
In wonder, as she gazes through the darkened
Sky lit by a brilliant moon and stars, dangled

In clusters, creating images and a haze
Of moving light surrounding the blaze
Of hope and wonder that are cause
For our betterment and flays the craze

Of depression’s loneliness that she
Left behind, as the music was too loud a bee,
She stirs from her pose of repose to see
And appreciate the beauty and comfort that be

Her succor as she contemplates
The dichotomy of a world at wars
While the other lives freely and creates
Memories, while the other loses or dies.

I’m reviewing several books

What book are you reading right now?

I’m reviewing several books: poetry and short story anthologies. I’m enjoying the variety in writing styles and perspectives. I’m a bookworm who writes poetry and her opinion, freely, trying to be as honest as possible. Reading is my gateway to a world of unknowns that makes more sense in writing as it feels as though it has logic behind it.

My book: Perfectly Flawed poetry for change is poetry that critiques colonialism,  injustice,  and fosters self-worth and growth.
