Accolade for my poem,  Black Wolf

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Review by Linda Powers O’Dell

Malak Kalmoni. Chehab A wonderful celebration of the wolf’s true nature, Malak. Too often vilified, wolves keep a habitat alive. All animals are innocent, we should honor them in principle. Excellent detailed descriptions and passionate ending!

Black Wolf

Oh ye baronial black wolf
Your golden eyes’ glow fiercely,
Shining a light among the blackest huff
Of dankest hour of the night, stealthily

Preying on his prey in paltry
Moonlight, pupils following, carefully,
Snout sniffing for hidden danger, boastfully,
He lunges on his prey, without mercy,

He kills to assuage his hunger,
That of his pups, pack, no blunder,
No torture, goes directly for the kill, a killer,
No psychopath, no serial killer,

He kills for survival, a part of nature
A force to be reckoned with, pure
Of heart, a defender of family, a purr
Is for happiness, making him more

Humane than a curr.

Certificate of Appreciation for my poem,  Cunning Forest

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Cunning  Forest

The branches, arms whose scratchy fingers
Reach out to the sun in supplication’s furors
As they imbibe their chosen nectars
From the sun’s rays of energy, golden scepters

Vying for each caress to shine brilliantly
Off foliage, rainbows of greens, roses, gangly
Rousers of spreading life beams comically
As the petals of the flower spread soaring languidly

Into to the sky, as though it’s natural
For flowers to fly and stay in perpetual
Flight! Then the moss greens jump with the gall
To croak into a sepulcher of green that pall

Into insects that crawl, fall into a sea
Of fauna riddled with danger, not just a bee
But brightly colored serpents that make feel free
To pick as their beauty Dazzle, but their bite is the fee

You pay for holding such wonder
In slippery hands filled with fear
As it opens a mouth filled with canines, needlers
Of poisons of the same colors as their skin. As per

Forest law, the strong prey on the weak
But their jeweled colors deceive you to look
Closer, a risk not for the faint of heart that brook
A charm that leads you astray,  so peak

Into this enchanted forest of amazement
But take care not be ensorcelled by its sharp bombardment.
