Award for Active Participation in Lead Pen

Thank you for the honor and your hard work. I’m always honored when I receive this award, as it feels like cheating when I enjoy the work so much. Reading and writing poetry is not a hobby, it is a must for my sanity. It helps me connect to authors, their worries, dreams, perception of esthetics,  and the medium they use to express them. To all the poets, writers out there, don’t give up after a few rejections, take up the challenge to improve on your writing techniques and take pride in all you do.

Review of my Poem, Poetry or AI

I’m flabbergasted by the reviews and comments on this particular poem, as the day before I wrote it, my daughter mentioned that my role as a poet will become obsolete soon with the development of AI. My answer was my poem:

Poet or AI

Staring at the blank page,
I wonder which words will
Walk in the journal in the age
Of fake people, news, expectations that kill

The soul of creativity replaced,
Replaced by AI, that seems to insist
It will take over ingenuity, graced
By humanity’s wondrous spirit whose gist

Is made of light, dark, and grey.
The rainbow of emotions need to be felt
To be expressed, and comparing a bay
To a hidden pearl isn’t the pelt

Or part of the its arsenal
Of diversity that enriches
The text with culturally metaphorical
Language that hatches

Between the lines for greater
Depth of meaning and comparing
The incomparable becoming the promoter
Of the noblest of muse to people setting

Precedents and going farther
In delving into the unknown
Sphere of linguistic wonder
That requires a mind of its own.

I am the poet, whose imagination
Will eternally spell creation.

Have a siesta!

How do you balance work and home life?

As a teacher, after the day ends, I need time to recover my patience for my kids, so siesta! Yes, archaic, traditional, maybe, but it actually works. After waking up, I feel rejuvenated enough to be able to help my kids with their work with enough patience, I hope! My time was pretty much divided into early morning with kids and sandwiches for kids, school, home, eat, siesta, teach, make dinner, kids sleep, then time for my husband and lesson plans/ correcting tests.

The best way to keep the balance going is to make sure you spend quality time with each family member. This makes sure you are still connected to them, although your time is limited. Communication is a key component to creating that balance.

To Vote or not to Vote?

Do you vote in political elections?

I’ve come to the conclusion that elections in first or developing countries are rigged!

Notice that all scandals about electoral campaigns come out after the ‘President ‘ is elected and has power for a few years! What pisses me off is that politicians seem to feel that people lack the ability to connect events that place them in a negative light.

As you may have noticed, I dislike politics, but I also know that it’s a necessary evil everywhere you go. The problems we’re facing come with the dishonesty of the profession and its lack of keeping its promises. People need to become more aware and unite against this corrupt class of political leaders.
