Certificate of Excellence for my poem, Tears’ Fears

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Tears’ Fears

Her tears, hidden like her fears,
They stain her cheeks in moments
Of quiet reflection, no sobs, tantrums,
Only a deluge of emotional expressions

Hushed by her shame that she’s weak,
Weak for having feelings that can freak
Out any ‘sane’ person and break
Their will to survive,  not her, her stake

In life is her children’s future
That she struggles to provide, nurture,
Even as she’s placed under careless provider
Whose emotional abuse is worser

Than any physical one, as the latter
Heals, while the first fester
In a heart that feels like a pester
For asking help to provide shelter.

Her tears and fears are hidden
From all, she only acknowledges the forgotten
Less worrisome problems that never flatten
As her strength overcomes the burden.

Triple Gold Certificate for my poem: Heart Slept

Heart Slept

It’s a romantic night,
A roaring fire, bright,
Rain’s pitter patter, light,
Grey skies spilling tears of fright.

The roamtic violin’s dreamy tunes
Creates an ambiance of runes
That devine future’s fortunes
That explode in a boom of fumes.

Romance dies a tragic death,
People move on without a breath,
Devastation reigns in line with
The fumes of death traveling in stealth.

Romance’s death is felt
With all loss of hope that spelt:
Joy, compassion, fury, hate that left
An empty hole where the heart slept.

Mom’s and children’s laughter

What brings a tear of joy to your eye?

My mom’s laughter is a rare thing to be heard, so when she laughs, I listen and bask in her joy. However, when my children and I are gathered together and someone does or says something funny, they go to extreme laughter, which induces belly laughs, that are contagious and bring on tears.
