Platinum Certificate for my collaboration poem with Dr. Frieda Norma Dela Cruz,  The Inverse Light

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

THE INVERSE LIGHT
By MalakKalmoni Chebab, Canada and
Dr. Frieda Norma Dela Cruz, Philippines

Malak
Shadow, oh shadow of mine,
I can only see you not feel you,
What are you made of? Do you
Touch me, unbeknownst to me and mine?

Frieda
You are made of “absence” and of night,
A “gap” where day’s bright promise fails,
Yet, when the burning sun inhales,
You are a true and inverse light.

Malak
Of darkened shadow of mine,
Shine your darkness into the key
That lingers on my soul, never flee
Leaving me alone, you’re fine

Frieda
No, I will “lock” the lonely door,
The self you hide is where I dwell,
The well from which your deepest spell
Understanding flows to pour.

Malak
Oh shadow of mine,
Steer my journey into light,
Caress my courage, keeping it bright,
Carry my darkness and imbue a line

Frieda
I am the “anchor” that you cast,
The deepness proving what is high,
I cannot vanish, nor will I,
For all the truth you seek is massed.

Malak
Of shadow’s tendrils to cry: ‘mine’,
For its loud whispers hover blindly
Over me, protecting my soul kindly,
So shadow, heal me and mine.

Frieda
I am the “mirror” where you find
The strength you thought was lost outside,
Embrace the dark where dreams reside,
And know the light lives in your mind.

Review and accolade for my poem,  Fiery Wall

Malak Kalmoni. Chehab Almost every line enjambed, lovely consistent rhyme scheme, profound themes, excellent, Malak! This powerful poem speaks so authentically of the historical struggles you reference. How long must the fight against tyranny go on? I love the ironic contrast of the last line, the cycles of shifting power never change. Perhaps we should just tend our gardens. Superb poem!! By, Linda Powers O’Dell

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Fiery Wall

The wall finally fell in a fiery
Spell when the sorcerer’s blurry
Vision couldn’t allow for it to stand,
Dividing people through the hand

Of varying shades, races whose
Humanity never fades or cease
The opportunities to rebel
Against the status quo,  like the bell

That hides reality in its stout shape,
Ringing loudly to oppress, gape
At dissidents who wish to be seen,
Accepted, not belittled, hated, a screen

Placed to limit their perception
To force the acceptance of perdition
While the authorities using an iron fist,
Stronger than iron, lighter than carbon, a beast

That needs to feel their power
Propagating, never stagnant, rather
Reigning in tyranny, calculating
Loss as as number, inhuman, weakling,

Unknowing that as they cast
Their spell for power, another will fast
Approach, create a coup, found freedom
In an area filled with boredom.
