The world runs around and bucks you
Off your trajectory with minutiea that drive you
Up a wall, and down into darkness which blinds
Your senses that either gives adrenaline or freezes
You into a statue that’s blind, deaf, and dumb.
Your vision turns into bright starts that short-
Circuit your mind with blinding light whose sport
Is to suppress your logic, embracing emotions
That turn you deaf to all evidence against your passions.
Those then steal your ability to speak your mind.
As the world moves round and round, like a merry
Go round, so do you try to stave off the shocks that ferry
You into dismay as experiences are disillusioningly
Petrifying, with their obstacles and demands
On your taking a stand outside your comfort zones.
Stay the course.
Stand tall.
Savor each experience.
Strengthen your faith with failure or success.
Sever negative relationships,
And let your self-confidence emerge
A snow white pigeon of peace and verve of life.
Pandemics, plagues, diseases, viruses,
Are all killers of humanity creating great stresses.
How do we combat what we can’t see,
Feel, touch, hear, or taste?

Some say: ‘It’s easier said then done’;
Others have similar sayings, with a different turn.
Lebanon, the saying goes: ‘ He who gets beaten
Down isn’t the same as the one who counts the beatings’.
Whether you take this literally or metaphorically
It seems logical that the one being beaten constantly
Feels the pain and heartache at a different level
Than an observer, sympathizer, or companionable
Friend or family member. It’s understandable
That being the recipient of such bad deeds affects
Not only the constitution of the person, but also
His character traits alter, his mood vacillates,
His very being shifts into negativity, unconscious
Of the act of changing till someone wakes him/her
Up to their behavioral substitutions that aren’t a part of you.
Ever! Don’t wait so long for things to become insurmountable,
Identify the cause of your beat down, face the indomitable
Obstacles that seem too solid to be broken down
And resolved as an entity. ‘Divide and conquer’,
They say, so too should your problems be cleaved
Into manageable parts, so your problems are metamorphosed,
Turned into simpler goals that are easier to be triumphed
Over, boosting your selfconfidence into believing
In your ability to dispatch the rest of the issues revolving
Around the whole that is effortlessly solvable.
