Academic Excellence Award for the month of October poems

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Below is one of the poems that were included in the contest.

April Fools

April Fools swings into its dancing shoes,
Flaying its arms, trying to score its booze.
The cruelest month, where fools
Are nothing if not people who drools,

Knowing hope is coming in spools,
Where begging and hard-working tools
Are all that keeps our hopes in prose,
Where stories live in imagination’s grooves.

April brings rebirth whose stagnant stools
Revives dying nature in schools
Of vibrantly colored rainbows
Fit for kings, queens, peoples, and fools.

I have yet to encounter pools
Of people whose dislike of buffoons
Likens them to being perpetually on the snooze,
As awakening from winter’s fog only comes in boons.

The boon of life resurfacing as it coos
Its wonder to listeners that froze
Their development as ‘The Waste Land’ looks
Like it’s coming to a close, waking from its hooks.

Hooks that find wings of freedom
Away from chains, soaring until doom
Is nothing but a memory that croon
But flight is a better bloom.
