Accolade for my poem, Halloween’s Halo

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Halloween’s Halo

The halo on Halloween’s head
Heads a direct divide into dense
Fields with scarecrows on the fence
Actively aspiring to anchor a bird

So it doesn’t touch the harvest
Longing to be free to shadow dance,
Sing to the moonlit sky in a prance
That would make Dasher envy his behest

For his life is a feast of danger
Watching as prey, monsters, try
To decimate crops not theirs, and fly
Away from the field, a test, reckoning, closer

As the night darkens to a raven’s
Blackness where fear leaches
Into pores, unseen by ghosts, grinches,
Ghouls pouring out of sepulchers cravens

For their fear reeks like cyanide,
Death speeding through rows
Of crows, corn, wheat, pumpkin bows
That cinch nightly ghouls on a ride

To feast on fear’s far-reaching farm.

Review by Dominique Erecilla Albano:

Malak Kalmoni. Chehab
Your poem “Halloween’s Halo” is a wild ride! It fits the theme “Shadow Dance” perfectly – you’re painting a picture of shadows coming alive on Halloween night, dancing with spooky creatures, and embracing the thrill of the dark.

Your poem has 28 lines, and it’s a treasure trove of imagery and wordplay! You’ve got scarecrows, monsters, Dasher, ghosts, grinches, and ghouls – it’s like a Halloween party in here!

The language is rich and vivid, and you’ve created a haunting atmosphere that’s infectious. I love how you’ve woven together the themes of fear, freedom, and the thrill of the night.

Congratulations 👏

Certificate of Achievement for my poem,  Silence’s Curator

Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Silence’s Curator

The green sprouts standing like sentinels
Protecting the beauty of nature’s quiet
Harmony that pulls its nutrient
Silently from the earth to nourish the bells

Of flowers dangling haphazardly
On long stems, sending their scent
Into the air attracting bees,  birds, that lent
Their efforts to pollinate nature’s beautifully

Synced ecosystem in a paltry effort
To beautify more fully a world
Needing its slow pace to reflect, to write a word
On the journey of life’s ups, downs, twist

That have you spinning in place
Like a top without a head ruling
Its grace with patience of flowing
Oceans whose quiet but all elegance.

Certificate of Appreciation for my poem,

Thank you,  administrators,  for the accolade and your hard work.

Important Insignificance

The fox enveigled the cheese from the raven,
The child wheedles the cookies from parent,
The dog raises his puppy eyes and melts your heart.

The birds twitter and flutter coaxing attention,
The flower shyly moves its petals to receive
Its caresses from the sun’s rays: nutrition!

The man wads his wallet to empress,
While the woman wears her war paint as not to depress;
The elderly lament their youth, and try to cajole

Their kin into longer and more frequent visits.
While the individual struggles to beguile themselves
Into believing they’re valued more than they are!

Ironically,  they lack the vision to see their importance,
That drives jealousy in others in constant
Turmoil with themselves,  for those lack your presence!

Diamond Certificate for my poem, Intertwined

Intertwined

The vanda blue orchid adorns silver,
Long, wavy hair that frames her
Violet hued eyes, button nose,
And glistening rosy lips that pause

With each end note of the violin’s
Hearty tune, that attracts butterflies,
Transparent to royal purple hues,
Flitting around her feet in sublime harmonies

With the birds that soar higher,
As though being strummed better
Through the violin’s strings
That are taut in their place that brings

Wonder and symphony of animal
And human lives intertwined in a primal
Need for survival with a core
Of compassion that’s human and not a bore.

March …. Alive

March is the cruelest month,

It teeters between ice and fall in cloth.

A wintry storm blows snow all day long,

The next, the sun peaks its head warm with a song.

The chirps, tweets, and warbles of the floks

Stuns with its humming personality that blocks

The rising warmth from becoming too hot.

The northern cardinal brightens our shores

All year long, while Blue Jay may scores

His flight onto our lands for a while and snores.

Enjoy the beauty of the cruelest month,

It’s variety, vascillatory nature, and the birth

Of life that it entails is vital to be conserved.
