Thank you for the honor and your hard work.

Acrostic


CORRUPTION

Corruct politicians commit crimes
Overlooked for their power trumps
Reality, facts, fairness, equality,
Remembering that by creating
Unprecedented division, depravity, you
Part unity of the people whose humanity
Tends to be set aside for peer pressure
Imposing the rule of the deceiver
Operating on manipulating those weaker
Needing corruption to be rampant while they plan.

Award of Appreciation for my poem, Cowardly Conscience

Cowardly Conscience

When you have a guilty conscience
Your immediate reaction is
To superimpose your feelings, piece
By piece on the one you argues

With, for it feels natural to believe
Of others what you believe you
Would do yourself, logic will strive
To drown out your guilt, but it’s too

Entrenched to let go, so, imposing
It on those you argue with seems
Natural,  but cowardly, as you don’t
Permit their voice, opinions to stems

Into a conversation for you
Automatically assume you know,
When the reality is, you’re too
Egotistical to actually heed what others know.

Certificate of excellence, Restitute

Restitute

Restitution, restitution, revise, revised.
Every year, as a way to move forward
Is to look back into a year gone by.

What’s been accomplished?
What’s been neglected?
What’s yet to be done?

All questions that need an answer
But none more than the one, far
More important: those you’ve hurt,

How do you make it up to them?
How do you make restitution and cram
Your guilt of causing others pain?

My restitution comes in the form
Of facing mistakes and behaving in a norm
That puts others at ease.
