Fallen Net
As twilight lightens into dawn,
Colors slowly seep into the sky and fawn
Over every structure, forest, ocean, mountain,
People fishing to feed their bairn
They throw the net, gracefully,
Casting a shine in the shimmering sky,
A splash as it hits the water,
A slither as it sinks to catch a proper
Marine fare, made ready for market,
With great care, they pull their catch with a picket
That’ll avert great loss of material gain
As their aim is survival in faith without pain
Of depravity of a soul lost
Into succumbing to deviation that cost
Their conscious to weep tears of blood
As it dissipates into the fog without a prod.
So, the simple fishermen score
What they need, send a prayer with a core
Of gratitude for the plentifulness provided
By the sea, faith, and appreciation, never horded,
But revered for the giving hands
Supporting their plight without binding bands.
