Thank you for the honor and your hard work.
Her Hibiscus Memory
Her memory of her decrepit home
Is fueled by her emotions of love
As each memory climbs the stairs
Of her vertebrae pairs
Fears, failures, successes, wins
While the climbing red hibiscus pins
Each step with a blood red popping
Flower that recalls triumphing
Against trends, unbreakable chains
That bogged her life with pains
She upended with optimism, passion
For living life with discipline, faith
Carried her through the quagmire stealing breath
As she surmount it all, regal, queenly,
As she faces what’s necessary,
Ignores the unimportant, treads carefully
When diplomacy is compulsory,
Then she asserts her vision
Of the world through action,
She leaves her imprint
Without being an obnoxious pint.
